I am wanting to book a Saver return for my mother in J Brisbane to Singapore 27 June 2018. At the moment waitlisted on SQ236.

Her preference would be SQ256 but that flight is showing Saver not available with Advantage waitlist. I have checked Expert Flyer which is showing only 4 seats booked so plenty of seats available. Any comments as to why Saver seats not available when only 4 seats booked?

With SQ236 Expert Flyer is showing 17 seats available with the first row blocked which I understand is normal.

Wife and I have already booked J Saver reward seats on SQ256 on 13 June and according to Expert Flyer we are the only bookings to date. Have been on SQ256 previously with only 7 passangers in J.

The return on SQ265 is available for a Saver reward and we have until 9 February 2018 for the waitlist to clear on SQ236.

Any explanation as to why SQ256 has no saver availability when only booked much appreciated.

Could be:
  • married segments (BNE-SIN not available on its own, but is available when you combine it for travel onwards from SIN to whichever destination SQ determines)
  • the award seats for that flight at saver level have already been booked

Number of seats allocated doesn't reflect award inventory, nor does it reflect passengers who may have booked but not selected their seats.

A seat map doesn’t necessarily indicate load, you need to look for the fare bucket availability to give you an idea of what is available.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
