"oneworld" award (132.4K/249.6K/318K/455K) Planning - The Definitive Thread

Actually there are 4 types. The 787 Q-suites are different to the 777 and A350 Q-suites.
Ah yes. I was trying to find the "Q Suites V2" on a 787-9 when I was booking my OWA but couldn't find any flights with that aircraft to Europe from Doha. They must not have too many of them?

Hi guys, quick question, I have a (BNE-SYD-SIN) one ticket and a separate SIN - BNE ( my home) booked on points.
If I started my round the world trip from Singapore would a flight such as BA16 - SYD to London but does stop in singapore count as returning to home country?
Does qantas charge the booking fee to add flights to the itinerary even though you cant do it online.
Anyone recent exeperience of wait times? thanks guys

I'm a bit unclear on the situation in your first question. As for change fees, yes, Qantas does charge each and every time you make changes to this product, even though changes can't be made online (and even if they could be, Qantas's rules would apply the fee (a change fee) anyway). However, that fee is currently waived for international bookings through 31 December 2022.

With respect to your first point, are you proposing something like the following on the OWA? (I know the below is a bit of a 'waste' and doesn't maximise stops/flights hah)

SIN-SYD
SYD-LHR (e.g. on BA16)
LHR-LAX
LAX-NRT
NRT-SIN

I'll let others answer the question, but I think that's scenario you were considering :D

You must book before 30 Sep 2022 and can make changes without fees up to 31 Dec 2022.

Thanks heaps, this is what I am proposing
Yes, I am proposing,
SIN-BNE - stop over in Brisbane ( already booked)
SYD - LHR - stop over in London - BA16 - I am concerned that it stops in Singapore, although it is ticketed as SYD- London - no mention of Singapore.. would that count as returning to the destination.
LHR-BUD - Stopover
BUD-LHR-Dubai - stop over in Dubai( or however I can get from Bud to Dubai on oneword)
DOH -BNE - stopover - would that be invalid or could I book as transit as dont really need to go back to singapore
BNE - SIn - although dont really need or want this flight

Any thoughts would be great.

The rule is: A Classic Flight Reward Itinerary must contain no more than one departure from the city or country of first departure on that Itinerary.
BA16 transits in SIN you can't depart SIN again.

I did a trial run. BA16 was fine.. the second stopover in BNE wasn't ..Back to Sydney than Singapore worked

You don't have to finish in the place you started, it will however count those miles (SYD-SIN) as part of the 35K max.

I was going to make some changes to a booking last night and when looking at the taxes I noticed 2 carrier charges on the JL flight. Has JL recently added any additional carrier fees or fuel fines. In Apr this year the JL taxes for MEL-NRT AUD120 per PAX, I have since changed this booking. Last night when looking to change a sector the CC agent was advising that the QF systems were pricing NRT-KUL with JL as an additional AUD295.50 and it was repricing the whole journey AKL-BNE-HND (QF)-KUL-PER (MH) from AUD244 to AUD539. I understand that every time I change the itinerary the ticket will reprice however AUD300 seems high for JL

lol, I dont really want to go back to sydney, I guess if I booked a transit in Brisbane, I would have to get off for customs and not get on the Sydney flight ?

thanks everyone for your help.

One last question. Can i use a PNR that has someone else on it, that wont be doing the rest of the trip? Ie they are just on it for the Singapore to Brisbane initial leg? No separation option is coming up,?

One last question, hopefully, if one on my legs on a RTW award trip is qantas and in economy, If i request an upgrade, will the points required to upgrade be part of the 318000 or seperate. Thanks heaps

Award seats are not upgradable to another cabin class, other than finding new seat availability and rebooking that flight.

It will be separate if processed as an upgrade (i.e. you wait for a SMS telling you’re in business).

If you find availability before you depart and manage to get it reticketed (risky with current call centre) then it will be included.

Hi guys I booked a business rewards flight with Qatar for later this month and I need to add an infant (no seat) to the booking. Should I call qantas to add or call Qatar instead? cheers
