As a couple, is it better to book the RTW flight separately or have 1 person transfer their points to the other and book together?

Also how come when I try to book a multi-trip, I get this error message?

It is best to book together then you are both on the one PNR.

Also its not RTW. Using that wording will get yourself confused and worse will get the Qantas call centre confused as it is a completely different product with completely different rules

You are researching and booking for a
Qantas Oneworld Award or OWA for short

Booking the two passengers as part of the Qantas Oneworld Award, separately, will be a nightmare to do, and to subsequently manage.

If you post the flights, you may be able to get some advice as to why you are getting an error message. There are a number of possibilities, including invalid destination/routing, or just the QF site coughping itself.

Just a quick one guys - have had my e-ticket for a couple days now with 'confirmed' flights and all, however, is it somewhat common that the Iberia and/or AA websites have errors recognising/retrieving the flights when using the PNR?

Iberia keeps giving me "A general error has occurred We apologise for the inconvenience. Please try again later"
AA gives me: "Please enter a valid six character booking reference"

If I search through Cathay, Malaysia and LATAM, however, all segments (including AA/Iberia) are showing up.

OK here's my route that I'm planning to book (all business except for economy HEL-ZRH):

1. MEL-ADL-KUL (QF671/MH136)
2. KUL-AMM (RJ181)
3. AMM-CAI (RJ505)
4. HEL-ZRH (AY1511)
5. ZRH-MAD-EZE (IB3471/IB6841)

Seats for the last leg home (SCL-SYD-MEL) don't seem to be available yet so I'll book that in the coming months as they are released.

Your Iberia flight(s) will likely be (one of the reasons) triggering the error on the Qantas website as from what I understand, they sometimes have been calculating the fares/taxes on that manually. I'll leave others to comment on any other observations.

edit/p.s. - assume you'll be looking for QF from SCL to SYD given LATAM's exit

I think you're right. I removed the Iberia leg and I can book. Should I book up to the Iberia flight on the Qantas website and then text Qantas to add the Iberia flight?

Also when I book for 2 passengers together, will I be able to access the other person's points without transferring? I'm at the Payment section of the booking and it seems I can use the 'Pay Per Person' option to split up the fees + points?

And yes will be looking for QF from SCL to SYD to MEL.

You will need sufficient points in the one account that you are using for the booking. You won’t be able to access two accounts for the booking.

Start by booking what you can, online, and the rest by phone. It’s easier than doing it all over the phone, in my experience.

Changes are made by phoning (not texting). Just quote your PNR.

Once you have booked online and have your PNR then call and just start the conversation by saying " I would like to add some flights to my existing booking"

Don't mention OWA or points just yet

Then when they ask what flights you want to add then give them
- Date
- Departure airport
- Arrival airport
- Flight number
- class

Then tell them you want to pay using points

So I accidentally ended up booking my flight for the first 4 legs. I thought if I exited the website right before paying the booking would be cancelled but it wasn't. I've booked the correct flights but on the wrong dates for 2 of them. Will I be able to change them for free? Also how do I even pay...

So, are you really sure that you have actually booked, and that it’s not just being ’held’? Do you have a default payment method in your account? Was this completed as an Award booking, or paid? I’m only asking in order to eliminate any unfounded concern on your part. 😏

If all else fails, you would need to phone the Call Centre.

Oh that's really unfortunate :(

Technically I'm only using CMB as a stopover to get me to AMM (via DOH).

Are there any routes with 2 x J that can get me from MEL to AMM leaving between 16-19 Dec 2020?

Here is my complete RTW itinerary. Looks like the MEL-CMB route is the only one with 1x J ticket so I just need another way to get to AMM.

1. MEL-CMB (Business SriLankan Airlines)
2. CMB-DOH-AMM (Business Qatar/Royal Jordanian)

3. AMM-CAI (Business Royal Jordanian)
4. HEL-ZRH (Economy Finnair)
5. ZRH-MAD-EZE (Business Iberia)
6. SCL-SYD-MEL (Business Qantas)

Have you looked at other ways to get to DOH rather than via CMB? Ie, a QR flight from one of PER, ADL, CBR, MEL or SYD?

What date are you looking at for those final flights (SCL-SYD-MEL)? And what status, if any, do you have with QF?

Hi,
I am looking at some trips including China and Tibet.
Cathay Dragonair seem to fly some services but they don't appear on the QFF booking site.
Is Dragonair allowed as part of a OWA in the same way as COMAIR ( affiliate of BA) is?

The 13 x Oneworld airlines: Member Airlines | oneworld

Partners/affiliates, etc, are not eligible for Oneworld Award bookings covered by this thread

No default payment method.
I'm not sure if it was completed as an Award booking. I just remember picking the legs in the Multi-City option and then clicking all the way next until the payment step and exiting.
