Only 21 days per trip
This wouldn't suit me.

They have a special PDF that is different to the regular one.

Regular: http://www.1cover.com.au/assets/pdf/1Cover-Standard-PDS.pdf
LivingSocial : http://www.1cover.com.au/assets/pdf/1Cover-Living-Social-Annual-Multi-Trip-PDS.pdf

No hire care benefits.
Fairly low benefits for luggage (max item generally $750 ex computers, mobiles)
For scuba divers either under instruction or ceritficate issued in Australia (a bit unusual).
Reasonable clauses for relatives deaths.
No journey disruption.

Still appears a reasonable policy - much more akin to what is offered in Europe/

Yep, I think those two exclusions rule it out for me.

For me it's quite a lot cheaper to do TID, which doesn't have the dodgy exclusion clauses. YMMV of course.

I am looking at TID policy...

I read the Choice mag article of Dec 2012. They recommend Worldcare in each geographical category for young and old. Each destination has a full service and a budget option. I just gotta chk i 28 day limit. I plugged in my 31 days trip and it didn't say it's too long.

Anyone else got any further info. I'm not relying on Amex I've decided.

I have been doing a little research on annual multi-trip policies.
There are not many reasonably priced options out there for trips over 37 days.
I have, however, found that you can get up to 35% off Suresave policies. For around $500 pa for two people the price includes trips up to 50 days and a $100 excess.
Like TID, ski cover is included ;) at no extra cost.

Has anyone had any experience with Suresave? They are underwritten by Lloyds.

I've used the QBE Qantas annual multi trip one for the last 4 or 5 years. 60 day trips allowed. Includes wife and kids. I think just under 700 a year. Renewed just the other day.

If you don't have trips over 28/30 days then other products can be much cheaper than QBE, generally under $300 PA for one person and under $400 for a couple.

e.g. Travel Insurance Direct, Columbus, Covermore

We often use TID (excellent claim record) but this doesnt cover things like Parasailing, which Mr Pushka is known to enjoy. We tend to have two policies - an annual one with TID that covers most things and then an additional one when Mr P knows he wants to do risky things, and then we have a Covermore policy. And then of course, for simple claims, there is the credit card Insurance which is free but doesn't cover some things. Good for easy claims though.
