OLCI BPs Now Include Express Path Pass

Although pretty irrelevant in Australia these days, I wonder if that would suffice for arrivals (assuming the same shows on an inbound flight)?

Interesting.
Anyone have experience with these? I think CX have something similar on their print at home boarding passes. But i still get a physical one when i turned up at the airport.

QF get charged for each use right? So they just assume everyone who is issued this new type uses it.

I guess it may increase the supply of those shared on here?

More like decrease the supply given they will be part of the BP and probably of no use om another date. Also, you would have to be very careful who you give an old BP to with the attendant fraud risks. This is because your family name and QFF number is also printed on the BP.

I assumed Happy Trails' BP was on his mobile, not a printed BP?

In any event I almost never do OLCI so I sure hope they don't phase out the cards. I usually get a couple when I can to use when I'm connecting from some port where they don't have them at check-in or a lounge.

Had it on my (Air)NZ BP on a flight out of SYD - AKL on Oct last year.
This means they are doing away with the paper cardboardy thing we used to get, and could "ahem ahem" keep for future utilisation if not collected by the staff person at the front of the queue to Express Path.

For J/F pax departing Australia, the physical express pases are apparently redundant: simply waving your BP will get you into the express lane in all my recent experiences.

I meant that you could probably still get a physical express card at checkin and just use the print at home one at the airport.
Thus keeping the physical one to gift not for someone to use your old BP.

The self service kiosks at BNE Intl will also print the Express Path symbol for eligible pax on the flimsy bit of paper that spits out of the machine.

NZ have been doing this for a few years. Bravo is QF is now able to add it. Saves the environment.

Half the time those things are never collected (and I agree they are of limited use in the days of SmartGate and the like, though *sometimes* the EP security line can be a bit quicker).

Last wee flew SQ SYD-SIN and they still had paper EP's and bugger me it was collected on the other side. I didn't care, but it was unusual in my experience.

In my experience the express path is rubbish anyway - maybe I just go on flights where it doesn't matter.

Coming off QF10 last night, mine (inwards) was handed back to me at the very last... (could not OLCI so nothing on my BP).

Haven't those kiosks disappeared as there is no need to have departure cards. IIRC last time through BNE they weren't there. At the busy ~8.00am period with all the e-gates etc there was no delay

I don't know, maybe the MEL/SYD international security people do a profile and I fit it, I always get pointed to the full body scanner with "hands up in the air", flying NZ/QF/EK!

When transferring from Domestic to International at Sydney yesterday I noticed that as they were scanning boarding passes they were stamping Express on them

I've seen them do that for people with tight connections.
