Hi all traveling overseas next week with Emirates and have just noticed my e ticket is missing the ' in my last name will this cause me any issues. Any advice?
 
You may find that missing the apostrophe is a blessing. Lots of computer systems struggle with them (as I am sure you know if you have one) so dropping it helps because the computer system and operator only need to deal with "regular" letters.
Same sort of issue occurs for surnames like MacBeth, Van Damm, de Burgh which are variously written with or without a space. Some computers think the space means the first bit is a middle name, ie: DAMM, CLAUDEVAN MR.
If the CSR is having trouble finding your name the "O" might also be included as a middle initial, so you need to find your name listed under the next letter after the apostrophe.

Whilst what OzEire says is right, I'd be phoning Emirates and discussing the issue with them; document the call (person you spoke to; time; advice given). Something like a mis-match between name on reservation and what's on your passport can cause significant problems, which you don't want to discover only on check-in. A missing apostrophe probably won't matter, but best to check.

Obviously, if they can re-issue the ticket without penalty to you (or somehow add the apostrophe) , get them to do it.

Information for border control (if required - like for the USA) will be pulled directly from your passport and sent independently. A missing apostrophe won't cause any problems in that respect.

If the name on the ticket and passport were significantly different, or if a missing letter completely changed the name (or gender) of the passenger, you might run into problems.

Which IS a problem if the airline does it one way, and immigration the other. PATRICK O CONNOR will not match PATRICK OCONNOR automatically, but a human operator who recognises the issue will override the mismatch, eventually, if they have the authority to do so... Often it will require a 'supervisor' to intervene or show the operator how to do it.

I feel for Mr [Chinese character] who might have documents which transliterate his name in the Latin alphabet/English pronunciation to Chung/Zhung/Chang or Xang... good luck with that.

No I don't think it will cause you any issues. I travel with an apostrophe and I have never had a problem because of the different ways different systems handle it.
 
It will probably be fine, even if there is an exception a human operator can fix it.

Watch your FF points and SC too, the missing punctuation can also affect automatic crediting.

I have the same issue with a non-letter - the only time I have had any difficulty was in Egypt and once a representative from the airline came down and said look our system just doesn't support it they let me in. Most of the airlines just jam my name together and drop the -
