Not receiving instant email notification of new posts in subscribed threads

Hi all - don't think I have switched settings or turned anything off - but for the past 24 hours I haven't received a single email as I normally do when a thread I am subscribed to gets a new post. Anyone else having this problem? Any ideas to fix?

No emails going there. Nor auto-deleted. All my subscribed threads have the 'instant' setting when I go to settings on the site. Curious.

It is happening to me too. I have checked the settings and I am still subscribed but definitely no email notifications since Friday !
 
I am still NOT GETTING any notifications of new post !!! I am missing ALL THE GOOD STUFF !!!! What is going on !!!

emails are definitely being sent. I'm pretty sure the problem would be that your ISP is blocking our automated emails, thinking that it is spam. Unfortunately, this does happen even though we do use a 3rd party service for these "transactional" emails to try minimise the blocking.

I know that our delivery rate to "bigpond.com" and "yahoo.com" email addresses is not good. If these are your ISPs, try to "white list" australianfrequentflyer.com.au, or as a last resort create a free gmail account to use for AFF email. You can always forward email from your gmail account to your regular "bigpond.com" or "yahoo.com" accounts.

Apologies for this, but there really isn't much we can do!
 
It is strange as I sit next to mrsdrron,use the same ISP and my yahoo account yet all my notifications come through.
Computers definitely have minds of their own.

Thanks. Will try the whitelist option (I have a yahoo account - don't really want to change emails just to see AFF posts).

Strangely one email notification came through earlier this evening. So weird as I hadn't changed anything.
 
whitelisting didn't help. will try another email address i regularly use and see.
 
Just changed to my alternate Yahoo address and it seems to work fine. Bizarre.
 
Out of interest I tried going back to my old yahoo address - but no dice. Seem to be getting all emails on my alternate address, albeit with quite a delay at times.
 
I have this trouble too - using a hotmail address
Used to work fine with the old site - new site I don't get many emails at all ...
it's kind of a blessing cause I don't get the wine deals emails...phew

We use the same email delivery system as we did on the old site - so if you got them then, you should get them now. I have just checked that system and no emails are being sent to your registered email address.

Are you sure you have set up your Alert Preferences correctly?

(BTW: I know we have problems delivering to some email addresses (such as bigpond and some corporates) due to their policy. But hotmail addresses are usually OK)

I got the alert for this thread :)
Yes, my alerts are all ticked for alert preferences.
 
I think I have it figured out.
If someone post's a new reply(reply 1) , I will get a email. (Which I read the reply in the email)
I then delete this email, and if someone else replies ( reply 2) , I won't get one (since I have not visited AFF)

If I DO visit AFF after the 1st notification (reply1), and leave I will get a 2nd email for the 2nd reply , since I visited the site after the 1st reply.

Is this right?
