Couldn't really find much about the Marc Newson dining set on here; except a few old threads. Anyway, we really liked this set and with a few good deals recently (including Myer selling it at 30% off) we ended up buying two of the dining sets and all of the matching mugs, teapots etc. Anyway after a few weeks in and a few dinner parties under our belt and absolutely loving it, the quality is great and really works well. Friends have complimented it (and we didn't even have to prompt that.... :)
Interestingly the mugs are designed to fit with the saucers from the cup and saucers.

I've always looked at getting a set, but the high price sees me not making a purchase yet. I think I'd want to buy the cutlery too (don't think it's available for sale) just to complete the experience! :p

I wouldn't mind one of these, actually. May I ask how much you paid at Myer for it? Did you get it online or in-store?

A trip to a few lounges and you should be able to get a bit of a range of Marc Newson dining tableware

It often comes up on Temple and Webster at a good price.

I can't recall exactly, but I bought the dining sets online for around $350 ish each? Then bought some of the other items through different websites with various sales. The mugs I bought in store (I hate mugs, but my arm was twisted).

Another fan of the Marc Newson crockery. We also have two full dinner sets, mugs, espresso cups and serving ware.
I built up my most of my collection via Temple and Webster and bought one of the dinner sets very cheaply from someone on Facebook who had won them as a prize. They are fantastic quality and dishwasher friendly.

I have a set also, but recently dropped and smashed one of the plates  Thankfully I've found an online provider that sells the dinner plates in sets of four, rather than having to purchase another entire set!

I have zero use for cups and saucers unfortunately, but buying 4 x Dinner and 4 x Entrée plates along with 4 x Bowls is more expensive than the entire set. So, a set it is. Damn you PF :p

I like these but the centre of gravity is way off - a poor design really. When you use the side of the plate the whole thing lifts up off the table and food goes everywhere.

eBay the unwanted cups and saucer

I picked up mine through a Catch of the Day special earlier in the year: got the 20 piece dinner set for $200, four of the small bowls (great for salad and snacks) for $40 and two mugs for $40. Later snapped up the teapot to 'complete' my set.
