I just looked at my booking for starting tomorrow night at the HSP Residences (2br apart for 2 adults, 1 child).

As well as the offers of upgrades to a 3br apartment and the 4br Penthouse (for just $1k or $2k per night!!), I am now being offered $45 per person, per night, to upgrade to a room with Exec Lounge access.
(I am only a HH Gold now).

I think we'll spend that money on something else ... or do you think I'm bonkers and should take up this offer??

While I've only had one brief stay at HSP, I wouldn't regard its Exec Lounge as worth $180 per day. The view is terrific, but the food, service and drinks aren't very special. With 2 kids I doubt you'd be getting the value.

The beauty of the HSP location is that there are many nice eateries around the hotel......as opposed to the EL which is, well....disappointing (IMHO). There is no way I personally would consider checking the box for that Nor1 offer!

Which eateries? I found the offerings around there nostly awful

I actually really like the lounge at HSP, and If I'm being honest, have struggled finding places to eat around the place which I'm interested in, but I think that was me and lack of effort opposed to an actual lack of eateries...
I however would't be paying $180 a day, as a gold ask for access at check in and you never know...

I am there next week and looking forward to relaxing at the lounge with its views.

it's not a terraffic deal but at the same time it ain't too bad either. It's probably better if you are a solo/couple who just want some place to relax?
