Is there preference to avoid interconnecting rooms?

Noise from alarm/buzzer in alarm clock, in your room or room next door?

I have trained to rely on my mobile phone for wake-up call and usually turn off the clock by the bed.

Also, I don't unpack until I am happy with the room, otherwise I seek room move.

I f noise from a buzzer all it is well your lucky, at the Rydges on Exhibition street my room adjoining must have been a prostitute den judging by the amount of high pitched yes do it to me every single time etc etc etc...
Next morning they did mark down a preference for no inter joining rooms. However that would be twice it ever happened. I still prefer no ajoining rooms
