see attached image... I'm trying to do a status run to get WP. I need another 130 SCs.

I thought MEL-BNE-CHC in J would work, but I don't get anything for BNE-CHC despite it being a QF flight number. Is this an error?

(and I would use pts to get home... CHC-MEL)

thanks for your advice, experts!

I'm on that flight next Tuesday. Every time I've checked since I booked it back in September, BNE-CHC has been unpossible according to the calculator. BNE-elsewhere-in-NZ appears with the expected SCs though.

Qantas seems pretty sure the flight exists :). I'm pretty sure this is just a points calculator error reflected in the page in your image. I can report back next week on what SCs appear after my flight... (Without this flight, I'll be missing SG by 10 SCs so I'll be complaining to QFF too if they don't appear!)

Certainly it's bogus.

Revenue business class will book into J, C, D or I.

On a QF flight number with QF metal such travel will absolutely earn both points and SCs for business class.

thanks guys! all up should cost ~$1300
Can you pay less to get 140SCs starting in MEL?

It's a known problem, the calculator has never shown it but it will credit just fine. Though it does have issues crediting to QBR.

Qantas has been flying BNE-CHC for well over a year. How hard could it possibly be for them to fix the points earn calculator?

It won't if it's booked as part of a negotiated rate (e.g. a whole of government fare). I also understand that fares won in Qantas competitions don't earn either.

Laziness...

And for the OP, MEL-xSYD-OOL daytrip return in J is $1366 for 160, but that's overshooting, although no point outlay.

Sure, that is true.

I don't see WOGF's as something the OP would be querying given the context. Nor the latter (although YMMV on that one in any case ;)).

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Though the OP is only after SCs, which when I was part of the APS were still earned (just not points).

Personally, if you haven't done the QF SYDint F lounge visitation, I if I were in your shoes, would have splurged and gone MEL - SYD (overnight) in Y or J, then SYD - CHC in EK metal QF flight number in F.
Thought the EK lounge is now downstairs at SYDint, the QF F lounge is still one of the best ones around.
While I will miss SYD - AKL, its good to still have SYD - CHC with an F service for now.
BNEint J/F combo lounge is nice, but QF SYDint F is the bees knees in my POV.

Great suggestion. melbourne sydney christchurch in business gets 125 status credits according to the qantas calculator. Sure do not get the target of 130 status credits, but at least go to the first lounve in sydney.

Indeed, "YMMV" in both cases.

Agreed, although I was replying to the comment by serfty that said points and SCs are absolutely earned in the four booking classes.

To nobody here's surprise, points and SCs posted as expected after my BNE-CHC flight yesterday. Just for a laugh I reported the calculator bug to QFF, who replied “Rest assured that this will be cascaded to improve our customer experience” surrounded by six sentences about how I can ring them if I really want to know what said flight earns. I won't hold my breath waiting for that cascade…

timmy-t, did you come to any conclusions with your status run planning?

"Cascaded"? So the problem is going down the chain?
