Hi All,

long time lurker, first time poster. Quite a great community you have here

Just want you advice on something. I've been a regular Qantas FF Gold member due to flying to HK a fair bit. This last year i flew a fair bit and was on target to reach Platinum. To attain Platinum you need 1400 status points.

i reached 1320 points on a flight to HK last November , then my points expired and reset ONE day prior to my return flight, which would've put me over the 1400 points. i pleaded with Qantas if they could allocate the points for the return flight to my previous year's allocation so i could attain Platinum, though they are playing hardball and refusing.

Should i push the issue, or am I resigned to sticking with Gold ? I do know of cases where people have fallen short of maintaining a certain Qantas status and Qantas has shown some mercy.

Welcome to AFF.

This is a welcome thread.

I'd encourage you to ask any questions that you might have in the appropriate thread.

Welcome aboard Cooper1, I wish you luck on talking QF around but.....

Welcome aboard @Cooper1 , unfortunately there's no use asking for assistance from QF.

Your membership year ended on 30 November, your return flight commenced on 01 December or later. Only flights in your membership year count. Nor do Qantas comp status when it's never previously been attained.

Still hang around and even meet people here 'in real life' and you'll soon learn some great tips for reaching the dizzying heights of WP.

Oh, and there's some great status runs from HKG, a quick HKG-KUL-BKK return on MH will return a heap of SCs that might just tip you over the line.

Welcome aboard!

I agree that QF are unlikely to comp something that you didn't quite attain.

Thanks for your replies and welcome, guys. I'll resign myself to having to wait another year. Just a waste of all those status points..

I always wait until Qantas offers double status points to book my trips. :) . Though i do some some other great tips offered on this site

And Dr Ralph, apologies if i posted this in the wrong thread
