I have had a bit of a search but have not found any comments about the reversal of the Long/Short legs for the Kangaroo route. Would love to hear from anyone who has flown the new service about whether having the long leg first (more or less during OZ night) makes sleep any easier.

I am booked on QF1/2 (J) in a few months and am keen to hear about experiences on the new service from the experts.

Thanks. I had a good look through but couldn't see that this was addressed directly. But it did cover so many other aspects of the new route. I lasted landed in Dubai around 1990, so will be interesting to see how much it has changed since then.

Are you going to break your journey, the legs to and from DXB work well with the timings, especially if sleep evades you on QF1.

I am booked straight through to LHR and relying on the J class service to bring me through. Will spend a couple of days in London to readjust before moving on into Europe.

Last year I did this trip in Y and was lucky enough to grab 71D that has the crew hatch in front of it and managed 7 hrs sleep on the SIN-LHR leg (with the aid of a Temaze). Previous couple of trips also in Y didn't yield much more than 3-4hrs sleep in total. Generally I have found that trying to get to sleep at what is about 3am Sydney time becomes problematic, whereas on the SYD-DBX leg it will be more like 10pm. Will be interesting to see if it makes a difference.
