"Qantas Frequent Flyer members with a Gold status or higher, and Qantas Club members, will have access to Alaska’s lounges in Los Angeles, Seattle, Anchorage and Portland whenever they travel on an Alaska flight, connecting to, or from, a Qantas international flight."

Can't see VA being able to do much of a deal with AS as a replacement for their partnership with Virgin America now.

Seems a bit lacking on the details...

AS MVP members get access to QF lounges prior to any QF flight, yet QF members only get access to AS lounges when connecting to/from a QF flight?
Is there access when the AS flight is AA coded?

Yeah, I thought the same thing regarding possible variations and ultimate gaps in coverage for QFF and QC members. Wonder how they will determine connecting from a QF flight? Does it mean it has to be on the same itinerary?

According to the Alaska Airlines website, AS frequent flyers/lounge members indeed need to only be on any Qantas flight. But they don't get access to *all* lounges, only the ones on this list:

Alaska Lounge members have access to the select Qantas Club locations listed below when departing that day on a purchased or redeemed-mileage ticket on Qantas. When traveling on Qantas, members also get complimentary access for their immediate family (spouse or domestic partner and children under the age of 21) or two guests. Guests must also depart that day on the same Qantas flight. Alaska Lounge members and their guests do not have access to Qantas First Lounges.

FWIW, Alaska Airlines lounge membership costs USD450 for 1 year (USD350 to renew), which is around $60 cheaper than taking out a new Qantas Club membership via the AFF corporate scheme and about $300 cheaper than taking out a new regular-price Qantas Club membership. Renewing Qantas Club via AFF is cheaper than renewing an AS lounge membership though.
