Qantas has replaced its Online Mall a new "Qantas Shopping" website.

Qantas Shopping | Online Shopping Deals + Earn Points

The site also replaces the Qantas Store, where people go to waste points on toasters and vacuum cleaners. ;)

One thing I find interesting is the "merchandise" section of the new website. There you can buy Qantas merchandise, such as this small cup for almost the price of a SYD-MEL award flight or this model Boeing 787-800 [sic].

Actually, some of the merchandise looks quite good though and you can buy merchandise using money (not points) - the price seems to convert at a rate of 200 Qantas points = $1.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I'd suspect lots of discounts on the merch. Fairly certain there was a 'sale' where you could get a keepcup for under 4,000 points last week. Gives them yet another excuse to e-mail us with 'look at all these discounts we've got!'

It looks like the 'Qantas Mall' has indeed been replaced by the 'Qantas Shopping' site. While the site visually is the traditional Qantas Dogs-breakfast, it at least allows you to search by retailer category now. Which is some improvement, even if the site now looks like the server has vomited onto your screen.
However those items listed above all seem to be from the Qantas rewards store - which is still its own seperate site, even if it is linked to via the 'Qantas Shopping' site.

I haven't used the QF shopping site in a while, but used it a few days ago to take advantage of double eBay points. Received the confirmation email to say that I have points pending, but now it says

...points will usually land within 90 days...

90 days! What happened to the usual 30 days? Or is this their disclaimer in case they have issues?

The 30 day period has long gone. I suspect it may have something to do with a subset of members using the points mall, getting a refund but still getting the points

Indeed. I hadn't purchased from the mall for almost a year since I grew tired of chasing points but made a purchase in June and enquired two months later. This was the response (my bolding):

Thanks for waiting while we looked into your query about the following Qantas Shopping purchase. We are pleased to let you know that your points will be credited within 155 days but it can sometimes take a bit longer too, depending on the store returns policy.

The thing is they already had the adjusted purchase value correct to account for a return I made within the 30 day period, but I still have to wait almost half a year for the points. Or a bit longer.

Interesting.
My ebay (smallish) purchases of 21/22 Jul posted on 24 Aug....
Normally purchase on ebay a couple of times a year and points appear in 4-6 weeks.

Just wandering

I think I have a winner for longest time for points to be posted. I just had a look at my shopping history and the pending points was way more than my last two purchases.

I scrolled down and.....

I've never had a look at that screen before. Had a look in my eBay history but it doesn't go back that far.
