I wonder if Admin would care to commence a new forum for Qantas 'Aquire' ? Its definitely separate from QFF.

I'm making some QF bookings and I can't see where top enter the details to associate the booking with 'Aquire'. I just called the QFF premium line and they have said they know nothing about the program. In fact they said 'it only comes into effect next year, so you can't enter your ABN'. I pointed out that you do in fact earn 500 in the pre rego phase. I was told there was no 'Aquire' help people 'as the program only comes in next year'.

At that point I got transferred to the FF help line. The question has stumped them too, and I'm currently on my second 'hold' while she tries to find out. Hanging on hoping the part made booking won't expire.

OK, after a long hold, I was told to add it in via 'Manage My Booking' after the reservation has been made.

I then went into the Aquire FAQ with the FF person and the answer to 'How do I make a booking with Aquire' only refers to making a booking via a Travel Agent. There is another Q which asks how do I ad an ABN if its forgotten in the initial booking? Answer - go into MMB. But that implies that you CAN add it in via the original booking!! But no-one knows about that.

There is the opportunity to add ABN for a 'trip report' but thas always been there and they all agreed that wasn't relevant to Aquire.

So QF have launched a good program, encouraged pre-registration, then forgot to tell their phone agents about it.

Oh, and after all that I got kicked out of the reservation system, in spite of vain attempts to prolong.

Yes, I went into MMB and the only ABN spot is the usual 'Trip Report' space. Which I was told by QFF wasn't the place for Aquire (although they didn't seem to know much else).

I'm now on hold again - this time I went to Customer Care (probably not the right place, but somewhere different) and the robots put me through to reservations.

OK, asked the same question. Again, no knowledge of Aquire.

So I'm on hold AGAIN while she tries to find someone who knows.

I suspect it WILL be the 'trip report' ABN area, but there's no text on the web site - either in booking or in MMB which indicates this. And the QFF person said that that wasn't the place!

Can AFF come up with the definitive answer before the forces of Qantas, I wonder?

OK. Reservation agent got me to go into 'viewing tips' right at the bottom to check that I had '5 green ticks' which would show that I'm seeing everything I should be on the QF site. I only had 1, so I enabled pop-ups on Qantas.com and got the 5 green ticks. Went out of browser (IE10), back in and looked at MMB - still only 'Travel Report' thing to enter ABN.

Wonderful agent in Melbourne took a lot of time trying to help me, said she would report to 'Learning / development' team (or something like that) and promised a call back today with some sort of answer - even if 'don't know'.

Red Roo, if you are about, perhaps you can look into this? Where does one add Aquire 'detail' / ABN to a booking? And if its under 'Trip report' area, maybe web page people can edit to that effect (and get phone agents informed about Aquire - or better than my experience, at least)? I will PM you with Melb agent's name - really good handling of call, even though she couldn't help direct.

OK, call back from Qantas tells me that the ABN should be added to the 'Trip Report' area (not AFF TR :) ). Which is contrary to what QFF told me, bit it seems we are all learning!

So I 'registered' for trip Reports - which I don't want or need - and hopefully Aquire will kick in .

I imagine you won't be able to see your Aquire points until the launch. THEN lets see how many applications for un-creditied flights there will be :) Sure I'm a cynic. :D

I'm trying to work out why you would get any points before the programme is launched.

Because they say so. 500 per flight during the pre-registration period.

Earn 500 points per flight in our early-bird special for eligible businesses^

As an introductory offer to kick-start your Aquire Points balance, when you pre-register your business by 28 February 2014, you can earn 500 Aquire Points per eligible flight+ for every Qantas domestic and Qantas international flight (with a 'QF' flight number) operated by Qantas, American Airlines and Emirates booked and travelled between either 12.01am (AEDT) 1 December 2013 or the date you pre-register (whichever is the later) and 11:59pm (AEDT) 28 February 2014.

The pre-registration offer booking period commences on the 1[SUP]st[/SUP] of December.

From the 1[SUP]st[/SUP] of December you will be able to add your ABN into your booking on qantas.com, either at the time of making the booking or through the ‘Manage Your Booking’ page. If you are making a booking via a travel agent you can ask them to add your ABN into your booking.

Our staff have been briefed on the launch of Aquire. We will however be in touch with the relevant teams to ensure they are adequately briefed to best respond to any future queries.

Cheers,

Red Roo

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

My reading of the information made it clear that adding your ABN to the booking as per normal was all that is required.

The bit about bookings from 1 Dec has been mentioned.

Ah, yes. I omitted to comprehend the "whichever is the later" part of this, in respect of making a booking (I read it as travelling after 1 Dec. only). My error.

Booking made now anyway; I wouldn't fancy my chances of getting a decent fare if I left it to 1 Dec to book for the dates I wanted :) .

umm so it doesn't count if you book prior to 1st december?

And actually there is a spot to add abn already. Perhaps it was always there, never really looked for it before.

Yes, that seems correct. Book and travel from 1st Dec (or when you pre-register).

The ABN thing was there before (and still is) and is for 'Trip reports' to go to your company. Its what the Qantas people told me to use for Aquire, but as I found, there is no Aquire bookings before 1 Dec.

I feel a bit of a dill, except that no-one in 3 Qantas enquiry areas - FF premium, QFF and Reservations (and supervisors in QFF and reservations) apparently knew either about the start of Aquire bookings from 1 Dec. ;)
