" .... new amenity kits, bubbly and PJs are all being offered from today on flights between Sydney and Melbourne and Dubai and London, and will later appear on other A380 routes to the US and Hong Kong
.... " :(

Anyone want to take a guess at "will later appear" be?

The male SKII amenity kit looks like something I would actually use. The products are good, too.

I want to see a pic of the new PJs.

Oh dear - the menu offerings (especially the main plates) do not excite me at all.:(

I dunno... looking at the sample menu, I'd say it looks alright.

Compared to other J menus I've seen around, and taking into account the quality of J food I've eaten, I'd say this is at least on par. But in and of itself, it looks alright.

New kits look good. Anyone have any credentials on Luxe SK-II? Never heard of them before, so just hoping they're not just some cosmetics that fell off the back of the truck. (Now that would be a world first - a dubious one at that!)

It's meant to be OK. Japanese brand owned by P&G sproiked by Cate Blanchett, sold in DJ's at the beauty counters.
Never used it myself. It looks from the kits that the rest of the contents are identical to the old Payot kits except swapping the toilet bag and skin care over. The red bag looks nicer than the ivory Payot one.

Interestingly Neil Perry has just Instagrammed the menu from Australia to Dubai

SKII has an interesting history, including being pulled off the market for toxic ingredients. See SK-II - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I think Cate was part of the rebrand.

(Dr) Princess Fiona, other than SKII's advertising, have you ever heard of Pitera? Looks like a constructed history to me, just like Abercrombie, Hollister etc.

I hope their are some Arab dishes on the menu, perhaps Ex DXB?

Never heard of it. I agree it reeks of a constructed history and was likely an attempt to imitate the "Miracle Broth" of La Mer and promote the brand as an ultra high-end luxury skin care range.
(Mind you I also think the "Miracle Broth" story is equally as unlikely ;) )

+1. Here's hoping for some Mezze and maybe QF might even be adventurous and have an Arabic breakfast option.

I have used some of the SKII men's range myself (not onto anti aging just yet though) and I quite like their products.

If I'm going to go high end, La Prairie is the way to go. Frankly, I'm happy with Biotherm Homme.

As for Miracle Broth, sounds so tasty!

does anyone know if the food on Qantas from now will be Halal? At least on the flights to/from dubai?

You can request a Halal meal in special requests if you require a Halal meal.

Can't speak for catering out of Dubai :)

From the QF Industry Site:

All meal options in all cabins will be Halal on Qantas international flights to and from London via Dubai. This includes special meal requests.

Customers and / or their Travel Agents are no longer required to place a Halal special meal (MOML) request for flights QF001, QF002, QF009 and QF010 for travel from 31 March 2013. Customers and Travel Agents who make a Halal special meal request should disregard the message they receive through the booking flow that advising them that the request is not confirmed.

I recall SKII just appearing like it was some age old beauty house that had never been revealed to the West - the prices were/are just silly (I only know this as I buy stuff for mrssimongr as gifts and SKII are out of the ball park).

I like the idea of small plates - it is almost targetted at WP hitting the F lounge then snacking on board - it almost looks like QF understand [some of] their patrons!

I believe besides QF and EK executives there are representatives of the largest QF shareholders onboard in F.

Nice!
Got an upgrade request in from J to F for June MEL-LHR, so here's hoping I get to check out these new PJ's.
