Emirates has announced the routes that will get the new 777 first class beginning December 1st; Geneva and Brussels.

This is an excerpt from the Emirates' press report:

Operating one of the two daily flights from Dubai to Geneva, travellers can enjoy the new product on flight EK083 departing Dubai at 1450hrs, arriving in Geneva at 1855hrs. The return flight EK084 leaves Geneva at 2040hrs, arriving back at Dubai International Airport at 0605hrs the following day.

For travellers heading to or from Belgium, the new product will be available on flight EK183 which leaves Dubai at 0820hrs, arriving in Brussels at 1245hrs. The return flight EK184 leaves Brussels at 1435hrs, arriving at Emirates Terminal Three in Dubai at 0015hrs the following day.

It’s looking like it’s going to be excellent from the YouTube teaser-

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Definitely looks stylish, and a great improvement.

Still a lot smaller than the SQ suite with its separate bed (and a lot of wasted space).

Binoculars are pointless.. particularly with the fake windows in the middle.

Reportedly one of the side panels moves to create a hatch so they can serve straight to your table.

Great for the solo traveller.. but doesn't seem at all to cater for couples or families (maybe that's a good thing)

I like it - although the double bed is nice, I don’t see Mr FM and I prioritising that - we prefer to do our own thing on planes, so the Emirates layout is fine for us.

I really love the fully enclosed “room”. I wonder what the schedule is going to be (apart from what has been announced). We are looking to book Emirates in Sep/Oct next year to Dubai then onto Nairobi. Nairobi is the 777, but can’t see it being a priority. I might leave booking for awhile, until we know what the A380 refit schedule is likely to be. Given Emirates and Singapore are now our favoured airlines these new suites are quite exciting!

As I understand it the only route announced so far is Dubai- Brussels. What is the best way to find out which routes as more are added - FF boards? I have been looking on the Emirates site and they don’t seem to have that kind of info. I don’t use awards internationally, use money instead, so would love to book one of these new suites if they put it on the Sydney-Dubai route. I guess just leave booking for 4 months and then try and find out what is happening?

I would suggest it would be a long time before it is on the Ozzee runs on the A380 as it is aimed first off at the 777.

yeah probably right. I just got a bit excited when I saw in the article that they were planning to implement on the A380s as well. Could take a long time. I am not going to fly to Brussels just to try it out :)

And no guarantee that they will retrofit any existing A380s. It may be new builds only.

I went and read some of the new stuff and it certainly sounded like a refit of the A380s wasn’t on the agenda, although they are talking of one of the new 777s for Australia - maybe Brisbane. Could certainly go CBR-BNE-DXB :). Anyway I have decided much as I would like to try one of the new suites, I am just going to book now and settle for the A380. The suites are fine and I like the shower. We will be on a 777 to NBO, but given it is only 5 hours I really don’t see that as a candidate for one of the new suites. So will just have to be patient and wait for another trip, although there is also the new SQ suite to try. Anyone paying for First who chooses Qantas is the ultimate in putting loyalty over value IMHO.

New suites look great! Would love to try them as we actually plan a trip to Europe in Sep/Oct but B777s F are all blocked ATM.

Agree with FM that EK and SQ currently provide the best value ex-AUS, as well as EY with their apartments and QR with their Qsuites. Would love to fly more QF but life too short to compromise and I’m not talking only value for money but also value of QF points.

Any reports on where the centre virtual window(s) are? Or is it just a channel on the IFE?

Yes thanks, I looked at those teasers and some YouTube videos. In the centre suites for a couple I can’t quite figure out where those virtual windows are located. Are they between the couple?

Shown in the videos above and plenty on YouTube. They are literally to your side and look like real windows - separate to the IFE
