Not seen it posted yet, but today noticed they finally have upgraded the camping cutlery. Also the wine glasses are so much better than those previous narrow things.

Sorry, not the greatest pic. The Riesling was top notch. Prawns were flavourless. And since when is a few bits of grass considered a salad?

Glasses have been around for a few weeks I think. I like them too. Doesn't look like the crockery - including the plates that tip over easily - have changed yet?

I first saw the new glassware in November. Was sitting in row 4 with Mrs 340 and the CSM brought back a couple of glasses of red wine for us after the J service.

The new wine glasses are a definite improvement.

That sad state of the salad has been like that for a while now, and is what you get in international J too. It's almost a bit of a why-bother imo.

Is the salad defined as a 'course' in the QF menu?

I think I've eaten (part of) the salad twice in probably close to a hundred domestic and international J and F offerings over the years (yes, this is the salad F pax get too).

I do rather like that cultured butter and the sour dough (I presume) bread.... Our family are doing our bit to bring real butter back into fashion. :)

Have to agree with the cultured butter

The Pepe Saya butter is great.

Correct. Same crockery. Also same slow service. We had a delay on the ground and had to return to the gate. They took orders then. Now given the starter options were soup or a cold dish, I don't understand why it takes almost an hour to get your first course.

Presume you were on an A330?
I've never seen quick service on one since the refurbs*. Drinks then first dishes take forever. What also frustrates me though is they prepare the main plates at the same time (presumably as some people just have the main) and I regularly have the FA preparing the hot meals come by with my main within two minutes of being served my starter. I'm usually in row 2.

* One exception was a very light J cabin SYD-AKL (maybe 8 pax in total). Used the trolley for drinks and to set the tables but then served all meals direct from the galley with the CSM taking care of wine separately. Much quicker.

That cutlery's been used for some years already on domestic flights hasn't it?

Not sure. Last domestic J I had was mid last year.

Correct. A330. Thankfully I was also row 2. Those in the back are probably still waiting!
