Need some help with Krisflyer Booking

Hi Guys,

I am doing the ICN-JFK in JAL F in May and thought it would be a good time to do a trial run of SQ suites to see if they are good enough for the missus (at least that's what I told her )

My ICN-JFK Flight departs ICN 11th May at 1110 and arrives 21st May at 2120.

1: I can't get it to book out of BNE. It works fine out of SYD but not BNE. What am I doing wrong?

2: How does A380 compare with 777? I remember I used to see wait for the A380 all the time but now I see some that prefer 777. On the way over I can book SQ222 on A380 departing SYD 1500 10th May (connecting to SQ8 777-300) giving me 4hr55m in some lounge that is supposed to be ok . On the way back SQ7 to SIN, and can either do real quick turn around in SIN (1 or 3 hours) on 777 or wait for the next day (14 or 18hrs) for the A380. Is the 777 SIN-ICN the same 777 as SIN-SYD? Should I mix it up a little?

3: If the A380, which should I take? SQ221 leaves at 2015 and SQ231 leave at 0035. Should I take the earlier one to guarantee dinner?

4: If I do stay in SIN, is there much to see in a day? I won't have checked luggage, just 2 carry-ons.

1. No idea. To tell what you are doing wrong, you'd have to tell us what you are doing other than "book out of BNE".

2. In my limited experience, depends on what version (config) of B777. I thought hard product of 'old config' B777 F was vastly inferior to Suite (I didn't like the bed). I think general concensus is that always go suites if you can.

3. Yes, I would take a dinner flight.

4. Hellavalot to see in Singapore in a day. You can store the carry-ons at the airport. Zoo, Little India, Clark Quay and related, Sentosa, markets, restaurants etc etc. After years of transits, I had 3 days there with friends a couple of years ago and filled every day.

YES or NO - your decision - SQ front end product from top to bottom - R on 380 -> F on 77WN or 77WR or 77Wr -> 773 -> 77W - whether in R or F o/n flts to / from Oz really wasted if you are first time / occasional SQ pax requiring to sleep - the SQ R / F exp really does need to be enjoyed in entirety on daytime flts if poss. So if you want to exp the total SQ product take any F daytime rather than 380 o/n - if you have opp to exp R over F on day flt take it every time.

As for guaranteeing which 777 you will get good luck with that - there are now 5 variants of 777-300 in SQ stable plus another 2 x 777-200 variants - 7 in total.

There is much much more to do in SIN than anybody can ever accomplish in 1 day - this specific question has been asked and answered several times recently and several TRs giving plenty info including pics.
