I can remember doing these as a kid. Either Qantas or Ansett, can't quite remember, but I do remember them being $200 for a day trip (and that was dirt cheap at the time!) and eventually became $99 (I think). For what it's worth... each one ended up being to MEL (out of SYD) so it got repetitive!

Those Virgin packages don't appear to be great value... $599 for 3 nights? You can book a Blue Holiday to Fiji for about that (and you know where you're going!)

I have to ask, ..... Points and SC??????
;)

"When I was a boy "in Sydney, we used to do $10 trips with Air NSW, or East-West, We thought we were hard done by when they went up to $12.50
Regardless, quite a good wedding present or similar.

Might be better value from Perth if its also $599 as Broome is the only one particularly close....

But yes, could get longer up in Bali...

Now that brings back memories ... Air NSW Mystery Flights . I remember doing a SYD-MIM-OOM-SYD triangle on the Fokker F27.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

And the best of the best... Syd- Connabarabran, Coonamble, Walgett, Coonamble, Coonabarabran- Syd, again an F27, and VERY Turbulant on a hot January day!!! Every passenger CROOK, as well as one of the FA's. Strange that they never put anyone on that for a Mystery flight again :D

These are pretty good value from Perth all things considered, especially seeing as how you can remove one destination from the selection. (Whether this is Adelaide of Broome is debatable ;) )

No earning of Status Credits on this (yet), but you do earn Velocity Points.

Any idea when SC earnings will be included VA?

I haven't been to Broome since 97 so I'm sure its changed, I lived in Adelaide from the age of 3 to 7 (so minimal memories) but i'm sure its still stuck in a time warp... :p

Given any such tough choice, i would tend to go for the once with the beach, drinks and warm weather...

While i probably wouldn't opt to live in Broome (although can imagine worse places) I'm sure i could manage staying there for a few days...

after living in broome for 12 years im not keen on going back there either :D

certainly makes for a hard decision...

Whats wrong with living in Broome? :) though being single and working at the Roey at the time probably made it a little more bearable...

Shattered to hear the wet tshirt comp has been shut down :(

Cant wait for Mystery flights to earn SCs, it really is a great concept. My fiancee and I often look at airfares on Thursday night to see the cheapest place we can go to. So long we are organised 2 weeks in advanced this will work just as well for us. Great for budgeting as well.

Hmmm, one or two other places on that list that i either don't have a great desire to go to (Hobart/Launceston) or are not really sure about (Ballina Byron, Mackay, Newcastle, Townsville)

Other thing is while $599 for one person might not be too bad paying for the hotel room as just a single occupant, if travelling as two people and each having to pay $599, well that starts adding up (I assume that's the deal $599 for one or $1198 for two for 3 nights)... Probably cheaper to do the deal for one person and then book the flight for the other person to come over and share the room if i am reading this right...

And yes i have at least one good memory of Broome... The wet tshirt thing sounds like a travesty, but that is progress i suppose....
