I received a survey offer from EDR today promising a chance to share in $2000 worth of gift cards every month.

As a valued Member, we’d like to invite you to join our exclusive online research community to share your opinion on a variety of topics that will help shape our range of products and services. Not only will you be able to have your say, as part of the research community you’ll have the chance to share in $2,000 worth of gift cards every month!

The header as I went through the survey listed it as a recruitment drive for May 2014, and at the end I was pushed to My Table to sign up. Unfortunately, that just results in a server error each time I submit my details and my account isn't created.

[h=1]Server Error in '/' Application.
[/h][h=2]Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.[/h]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, Geneva, SunSans-Regular, sans-serif]Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.

Has anyone else received the email/previously joined up?

Am I missing out on much?

I got the email, haven't finished the survey yet.

I also got it.Certainly longer than 3 minutes to answer.

I got distracted by lunch, which was a means of avoiding someone...

I ended up with the "at home" community. I got the same error timeout message during registration but eventually made it through to sign up.

The link on the verification email didn't work either, same timeout message. I'll try it again later.

The survey also took much longer than 3 minutes so I was rather annoyed at this.

I wondered whether the timing issue was due to my internet connection (even though our connection is usually fast). If there were others that took longer than 3 minutes I'm thinking they gave out the wrong information and it's worth complaining about.

I thought perhaps they left a zero off the 3, and actually meant thirty minutes :p

I got the timeout when trying to verify, but the confirmation email came through anyway.

That was definitely not 3 minutes worth of survey...

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

My brother got the email.

Didn't do the survey but sounded like a waste of time.

Originally had the error. Tried again an hour late and voilla.

Website for the survey was annoyingly slow at page loading. Unless that gets sorted out, I won't bother with future surveys.

I finally got through to the "At home" community without getting the timeout error message. I lost track of the number of times I tried.

Another family member has been a member of the "At home community" which is part of the same group of survey websites owned by Woolworths.

They are very happy as they have just won a $20 Wish card for their contributions to surveys and forums.

I was a bit concerned at the amount of personal information they wanted in the initial survey - been enrolled for a month - 2 surveys - more data mining - no gift cards yet - I am not saying this is not legit but it smells to me like it is not worth the hassle or loss of personal information.

I received my first survey yesterday asking me how I was going with the community... and I replied quite frankly that the lack of information left me feeling very neutral... but I'll stick with it and see if it leads anywhere.

Mrs QF WP got the email today, so I signed her up ;). No trouble with survey, but agree with all - that was no 3 minutes!

Website is a piece of ....

Put in address details but get error message:

  • Country is a required field.
  • The Street Address line 1 field is required.
  • The Suburb field is required.
  • The Postcode field is required.
  • State is a required field.

Also takes FOREVER to action clicks....I watched my cup of tea grow cold...

Guessing game: what is Mrs QFWP's photo :D

I got the email AGAIN!

I also get double emails whenever they post quizzes and polls!!

As I remarked in another thread today, this certainly seems like Woolworths attempt to control the data they collect, sort of like a mini-AFF as mentioned by someone else. Unfortunately, there's nothing that really keeps me there and wanting to post more. For the most part, they might have to continue getting my views here because their attempt at a site is a PITA.
