Last month I did not retain WP and dropped to SG :( I have two upcoming Y bookings on BA16 (SYD-SIN) on 25/9 and 22/10 whereby I pre-allocated 28B seats on both flights (being exit row, 1st row of Y). I was able to allocate these when previously a WP. I checked my bookings tonight and see that both seats are now moved one row back to 29 :( and exit rows 28 are now blocked off. Oh well, just another sad situation for losing WP ....... but on the brighter side, there's something to aim for this upcoming 12 months!

Do not sorrow, do not lament. Have I not repeatedly told you that there is separation, parting and division in life? How can that be that gained seating privilege, subject to review and to cease, not cease? This is impossible. Keep endeavouring and very soon you will be free from all pain, suffering and taint.

Ouch Alanslegal they really know how to hurt. I did not think you could get relegated once you had done a seat selection.

Are you sure it is connected to you losing your WP status and not a BA GGL or similar bumping you?

In the past BA have been very bad for seat shifting.

I know the policy says that BA Silver (and I assume OWS) can reserve seats from booking but not exit rows. Just surprsied that BA's systems are that good that they periodically check status against seat selection.

There's many reports on the BA FT forum of such sweeps being done as a matter of course.

Still, as a Sapphire, Alanslegal still should be able to have a go at (non exit) seating at no charge.

Yeah thanks, I managed to re-allocate one flight to 28D (bulkhead) and the other ... to 29C as all bulkheads are taken.
