Good evening folks, this is my first ever Trip report, Flight in Singapore Airlines, A380, F Flight!!!:D
For me, until this day, my definition of a luxurious flight was spending a $20 on food and drink on a cheap sale International jetstar flight, hell, one day im expecting to have to pay to use the toilet
A word of warning, I suck at photos, and im sure the same flight has been reported on many times, and its probably not very exciting for seasoned travellers

But here it goes! (Go easy)

Date: Fri, 12 Jul 2019, 00:05
Aircraft: A380-800
Details: Melbourne-SIN
Seat: 3A

Checkin

Very excited to turn up to see they actually have a different queue for First and Business,
Was hoping to see a queue for economy 10 miles long, unfortunately, some economy passengers were getting served quicker than me due to more counters, but I still intended on flashing my boarding pass even if no one could see!

Lounge

Very nice A la Carte menu, asked if there was a smaller portion, and they had no problems making me a smaller soy chicken dish, however ended up having a sandwich too, buffet selection was adequate,
always like to compare pricing levels of wines, spirits, beers, food ingredients etc. surprised to see a $200 Johnny Walker blue available, yet the most expensive wine would have been $70, so Johnny Blue it was

Gate

Intersting display before the gate, unfortuantely I was running a bit late, and silly me tried to line up at business queue, until a staff member saw my boarding pass and told me to go to the first class queue, which saved me probably a grand total of 15 seconds :)

Lady kindly personally escorting me to inside the plane

Settling in to my seat, manager offers me a glass of Dom Perignon 2009, almost was expecting me to ask to take a photo so kindly offers to put it on my table, label facing fwd.
Ive only had older vintages of Dom in the past, and this was also very nice
Managed to tear apart the Lalique amenity kit, which I wont itemise because everyone already knows whats in it,
Got my Lalique branded pyjamas, Slippers, socks, eye mask

Kind manager, as he saw my glass almost empty offered to bring me over the Krug 09, my first krug, more richer on the nose and palate compared to dom, definitely my preference over dom
manager also offered to take a photo of the krug as well as me (must have been because there was about 4 staff and 3 customers at this point),
got my teddies, evian, hot towel at this point,
ive virtually pressed every button and closed every door/window by this point

Ventured off to the toilet, about the double size of economy, just neat and nice, nothing amazing, was expecting a bit bigger or stand out
Was given some nuts for take off, of course warmed up for extra service, off we went!
Entertainment unit fairly easy to use, wide range of movies, including international
Personally ,despite the huge range of movies I struggled to choose one, ended up watching Shallow Hal (pls dont mock me for my taste.....or lack of!)

B and O head phones noise cancelling provided, they were very good, not quite as good as my Sony XM3s but very up there,
Was provided with a flakey great croissant before my lobster was served,
Lobster was great, cannot fault , water, soft drink and Bordeaux topped up constantly, without even asking for it. I can see how the lobster could come out wrong if overcooked or heated too long or stored a bit long
Fruit platter was excellent

Extensive coffee and wine list, wine list also very good, they were of decent age and quality, not 20 years old or 2 years old, and they were a little off mainstream which shows some thought has been put into the winelist,
also coughtail and spirits list well done too. If it were a daytime flight I would have tried a lot more, but since it was already like 2am
Standard Food menu looked pretty standard for asian and western, but im sure it would all be well done
Excellent presentation,

I obviously missed out on caviar, cheese, and soup course due to the time

@travelnutjohn always love seeing people do a TR with great enthusiasm. Please keep the photos, I've never flown SQ so this is all new for me.

Changed to the correct IATA code for Singapore Airlines. Was that a Freudian slip thinking of a Singapore Girl? It's a great way to fly.

Bedtime

20190712_015922.jpg20190712_015932.jpg20190712_015924.jpg20190712_020036.jpg20190712_021703.jpg20190712_003610.jpg20190712_003911.jpg

After clearing my table , I requested my bed to be made, while I go off to the toilet,

by the time I got back, bed made, new bottle of evian given, headphones, pillows, my phone charger all put into place by the staff, amazing!!

Cabin is dimmed to this purple neon colour, bed is comfy as, was expecting to be able to feel the planes engine or shaking but I could barely feel anything. Pity its only going be like 4-5 hours sleep which is not enough for most people, youre going to wake up feeling not as refreshed as a full nights sleep

Some have suggested that breakfast was supposed to be included, I was never asked, and slept through to the end, so im not sure if it wasnt included or I was left to sleep

Turbulence

Not sure if this is normal, but as soon as this video finished it got worse and, I had to catch the glass falling off due to turbulence!

Internet
I was allowed to have 100MB or 150MB of internet included,
all needed to do was signin on the web browser, very quick
unfortunately, many sites simply didnt load,
Sent a few emails and browsed a few websites and within an hour I had run out,
was hoping to be able to browse general websites for the whole trip

Yep FREE 100MB for R/F pax - 30MB for J - runs out very quickly even at the abysmal download speeds. Once your free data is exhausted you can buy add-on package which is not cheap and still horrendously slow.
