People often say "Go hard, or go home".
So with a quieter than usual year on the work flying front and some holidays that unfortunately didnt work well with OW airlines, my SC earn was shaping up to be a pretty sad accumulation of multiples of 10-at-a-time come end July anniversary.

Well, that was a week ago. Now bring on the monster of SC runs (well for a newbie anyway) that should add a sneaky 1020 SC with a week to spare. OK, so it's not technically just for the SC, more like a bunch of trips I had to make but thanks to info learned on here, contructed in a far more effective way from a SC point of view.

It's only money

With a couple of other regular interstate work trips still likely to crop up in between, it all seems done and dusted from a Plat qualify point of view. In a years time at least I'll be able to moan from a position of authority on how worthless "WP" (have I got my abbr right?) is compared to the lowly gold I've sat at for yonks. :D

What class are they booked into? The bottom 3 look good.

Various...
important (long) ones are I/J being MEL-SYD-SIN-HEL-LHR-HEL-SIN-BNE-MEL & SYD-AKL-SYD-MEL booked as a mixture of ASA & regular Business fares.

Other short hops are all cheaper economy tix, incl the BA side trip to spend three days chillin on my Uncles farm in the middle of the lazy french countryside.wine.gif

I still have to book a side trip singapore to KL and will prob use JQ Asia for that but if my maths are OK, I wont bother "max-ing" that fare as it's only about 3 shekels each way basic fare and lets face it, I'd earn more miles flying to my next door neigbours for a barbie.

Looks like you have one spare week for a JASA to reach WP? :p

If all get credited as they should (1020 SC), the 400 I already have from my pretty quiet travel year will put me over the WP mark by end Jul.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

We also look at the cost per SC as a measure of success. Have you calculated this?

This is where the attractiveness of Yupps and kapps on AA matter.

Looks good, you should enjoy yourself.

Fair point spruce, all up there is about $7K of travel booked there and a grand of that accounts for only 80 SC's being discount Y short hops. So its not that economical (I assume?) From a $/sc perspective. My actual personal "out of pocket cost" ;) is closer to $2500 so that takes the sting out of it a tad :)

As I say in the thread title, it's not a fairdinkum SC run but more like a bunch of planned trips for work and pleasure that I booked with maximising sc earn in mind.
