Hi all, hoping for advice on Spain SIM card mainly for data. Plan to use a MIFI and use my phone for google maps navigation, searching for info, skype phone home and checking emails. Have done a search and I do realize buying a local SIM from movistar or vodafone is the best value. However I am keen on having a working SIM immediately on touch down and Mobi Passport seem to have good reviews.

Looking at the mobi passport site Hits Mobile Spain SIM I was a bit confuse. One part of it says tethering, voip and skype allowed. But another part says there will be a $4/day charge for tethering and skype not allowed. Have emailed mobi passport twice with no reply (which does give me some concern about whether they will send me the SIM if I buy it).

Anybody have experienced with mobi passport Spain SIM? Can I use it in a MIFI for tethering and skype? Open to suggestion for any other options (I've looked at woolworths and holidayphone, both pretty expensive for data). Thanks.

Thanks dalereardon.
When you bought from them, did they take long to post the SIM?
The Italy SIM comes with 500mb european roaming data. Sounds like a good deal as I will be in Germany a week too. Did yours have this or did you buy two separate SIM for France and Italy?

I have used a Mobipassport SIM in both France and Italy and they worked perfectly.

I had also bought a Spanish SIM and planned to use that but my wife got injured and we had to cancel the Spain part of our trip.

They were a bit slow on email so maybe give them a phone call.

My SIMM was purely for Italy and separate one for France. This was because I travelled in May and June 2013 and the EU data roaming rules changed after that to be more flexible.

I had read that you were going to be able to roam quite flexibly in EU countries so perhaps even investigate a UK SIMM so you can get English support, voice mail in English etc and maybe it will have enough roaming.

Ok, just bought the Spain one. Shall give it a try. Looked at the UK sim but 8 pounds/100mb seems a bit steep. Anyhow, worse case scenario doesn't work well, shall get a local SIM. Thanks Dale.
