Hi,

I have just started an international trip and my status credits expire today which will drop me back to gold. However, my Cathay flights taken 2 days ago will enable me to re qualify. Do you know if the system will drop me back or give me a grace period for credits to appear? Given that I am going to be using lounges on my trip, I am keen for these to still be first class lounges!

thanks

From reports here Qantas website usually shows the previous year status for a few days into your new year. The CX SC will count for status in the year the flights were taken, so yes even if your status drop, it will be updated as soon as the flights are credited to your account. You can claim missing SC 3 days after the flight on QF website.

thanks, that's reassuring to know!

SCs from partner airlines generally take up to 2 weeks to post depending on the airline and the day the flight is taken. Some airlines push point/SC earn to Qantas daily, others weekly (eg, JL does it weekly on Mondays for the prior week. CX on Tuesdays IIRC). Others often require follow up (like QR...).

SC earn will count towards the member year the flight was taken (based on local departure time of the flight). If the system drops your status, it should revert it back once the flight posts.

Just logged into my account and my credits are down to zero. My status is still listed as platinum although my points tracker is gold and platinum is listed as an attain rather than retain target! My FF card on my mobile is still showing as platinum although the expiry date is Aug 2019. All a bit confusing but lets see what happens over the coming days...

Worst case you contact Qantas and set out the situation in a couple of weeks and they'll do a manual adjustment. You can't have been the first person to have this issue, especially as it used to take a lot longer for the SCs to post from QF and partners

I'm not actually concerned about changes being retrospectively made. I'm more concerned about misinterpreting the various status credit earning tables for partner airlines and making a mistake in how many I will get! We flew I class with Cathay which will get me 25 credits over re qualifying for platinum. Flew from Mel to LGW, just hoping that the full credits are awarded as I calculated (180), will hopefully find out on Tuesday.

If you were booked into I class as per your booking & flew that route then yes you should earn 180. I class is an eligible code for QF partner and if it was CX code & metal then just wait and they’ll arrive
