Got an email from Velocity saying "Points could be waiting for you" and "Don't leave your points on board" which I've never had before.

"Warks, it looks like you've flown with one of our partner airlines recently and didn't earn Points for the flight.
Don't let your Points escape you. Simply select which airline you've flown with and follow the steps to see if you can claim your Points."

There was a list of partner airlines, none of which I've flown in the past year but at the top was Virgin Australia so I clicked and it just took me to the site where I could log a claim. But I didn't know which flight they were talking about. I checked through my recent flights and I think it's because I had a reward flight in recent weeks so perhaps that's it - it shows me earning 0 points for the flight(s).

Anyway wondering why they were so keen for me to get my points.

I got the same email yesterday. Haven't had any reward flights and I am 99% confident all my recent flights, including those with partners, have posted. I just chalked it up to an email distribution error.

I received the exact same email, no rewards flights but a paid low fare domestic return 21/2-23/2 (return leg upgraded via UpgradeMe, wonder if I can get Business Saver Status :p) Also assume email distribution error.

Got same, having had no flights with partners since June (VS metal using VA award redemption).

Also got one yesterday. It started making me think about it a fair bit, even though I was aware all flights had been credited. As I thought further about it, aside from the email seeming wrong, I wondered how it could even work as, if they had my FF number it would have been credited, not generate this email. But if they didn’t have my number, how would they know to contact me? It’s not as though all the partner airlines are sharing all their passenger manifests (name only) with each other in case Virgin had a member just so they could be credited…. And then VA searched through their member lists and contacted those where names matched….

So I thought it should be a dud, and I shouldn’t waste any more time thinking about it. Seems VA trolled many of us!

I have not received one, but have you guys thought it could be a phishing email/scam?

No, it's genuinely from them. It has all the standard details, including status, member number, and number of points.

thought it was very weird indeed, last partner flight was a Hainan Airlines flight back in August and was definitely credited
