We have a redemption flight using Velocity points on a DL segment. I just got an email stating:

Dear Mr Tiki

We have attempted to contact you multiple times regarding changes on your redemption flight with booking reference number xx_xx_.

We are sorry to advise you that your Delta Air Lines flight DL1574 on xxMay2016 from Orlando has been rescheduled.

We recommend that you contact us urgently so we can discuss the details further and look for alternative flight if necessary.

Our redemption team is available 7 days a week from 730am to 1030pm (Sydney time) by calling 13 18 75/+61 2 8667 5924 and following the prompts

,,,,,,,,,,,,

We can't call as we are in South America. The sched change is about 20 minutes and is no problem for us. There doesn't seem to to be a chat feature or "accept changes" button. I can't find a Twitter account for VA. I replied to the email and told them the change was ok.

Velocity account won't let me retrieve the booking and there is a message: You are unable to retrieve this booking as it has been cancelled. For any queries, please contact the Guest Contact Centre on 13 67 89.

The booking on DL using their pnr is showing confirmed - same flight number but just slightly different timings. Original departure 0815, new departure 0755.

Is there a VA rep on here who can fix this by email or chat? We don't have global roaming and it would cost a fortune to call Australia from a hotel.

I had a similar situation with my LAX-JFK a few weeks back. They told me my 0830 hours flight was cancelled and put me on a 0730, giving me a 45 min window from flying in from SYD. Thing was, when I got to LAX rushed the desk straight away, knowing I wouldn't make the earlier flight, I was re-ticketed on the supposedly cancelled 0830 and still with Comfort+.

I too had something similar about 8 weeks ago. Telling me there had been a schedule change and the departure time was now about 10 mins later but that my booking had been cancelled. Only found out by logging into my booking.

Rang them - not in fact cancelled.

Worked in my favour as I needed to cancel the booking anyway. Because of the schedule change, I was able to cancel without penalty and got full points back.

But I found it very odd that it was not just a schedule change given the minor change of time.
