United MileagePlus Premier Status Match Challenge

I submitted a status match on 31.01 to begin on 11.04.22 but have still not been approved (QF Plat) is there any number I can ring to chase this up?

Just submitted my status match for a potential US trip in October. I'm QF WP and LTG but applied as GOLD as I don't think I'll meet the 10PQF requirement. Am I right that the below Itinerary would meet the 6PQF's for Gold? SYD>SFO>SEA, SEA>IAD/DCA, ORD>IAH>SFO>SYD

Submitted on 10th June.
Matched to Premier Plat on 11th June.
Start Date 1st August 2022

You get 1 PQF per flight.

I'm confused. Why are there start dates 2 months after the status match is approved? Is it a date set by UA or can you nominate this? And I'm guessing the 120 days to requalify starts from that start date?

I had my status match approved within a day QF WP and set the start date for end of December so my qualifying period goes out to April. Works in with our RTW with some United internal flights in US. Big bonus as applied back in 2019 and normally you need to wait 5 years between challenges.

When I use United booking site, partner airline flights show as 1 PQF per leg. Is the consensus that wouldn't count towards the Status challenge? Does it have to be on UA metal? Looking at flights next July and UA metal is horrendously expensive vs partner airlines...

Flights on eligible partner airlines do normally earn PQF and PQP, but for the purposes of the status challenge only flights on United/United Express count.

Thanks Matt. Guess my hopes of the status match are dashed… was thinking of doing it going AU-Europe via US but its far too expensive.

You can still travel from AU to Europe with United. Indeed, it is arguably the most direct routing and often the least expensive way to get to Europe all things considered.

I applied for this match around 9 days ago, I haven't heard anything yet.
Maybe you guys can help me with a question.
I am flying United on Nov 10th, I said I wanted my start date to be a few days before this. But now I am thinking this was a mistake as I want to take advantage of the upgrade to Premium Economy which I am assuming I need to do ASAP as It looks like it is filling up.
Is there a way I can change my start date to sooner?

Perhaps its just when I’m looking (July 2023, partially flexible dates, SYD-CDG). Happy to keep investigating it as it would line up nicely for maximising the Status match (*G for 18 months)

OT, but how do you figure that?

eg SYD-LHR via SFO is 20% longer than via Asia (HKG/SIN/BKK) or even DRW. Plus you don’t need to enter the US of A both ways.

Very questionable also if it’s “least expensive“?
