Stayed here on the weekend as part of a trip to Sydney for the Vivid festival. We were travelling using public transport so parking was not a consideration for us but I understand they do have $40 a night spots available.
We were staying on a Sunday night (cheaper than other nights) & adjusted our booking (pay at check-in) as the dynamic pricing changed. We ended up paying $150 for a 1 bedroom suite of 56sq m-great value
Check-in was very efficient & the Meriton system allocates a particular lift for you to use. We were on level 21 with an east facing room towards George St. The room was very comfortable although not as flash as the one we had in Hershell St Brisbane previously-probably just a reflection of the building ages.
Living Area-huge fridge/freezer, washing machine & drier, oven, dishwasher, coffee machine (limited pods in room), air conditioner, large tv with good range of pay tv options & comfortable lounge. Good blockout blinds & no noticeable outside noise.
Balcony-big space with a comfortable outdoor setting. As with a lot of the CBD there is a lot of shade but at least there is the option to sit outside.
Bedroom-set up as a king (2 pushed together), pretty soft bed (probably softer than I would want in a full-time bed). Excellent led reading lights, separate reverse cycle air conditioner, separate tv, safe, plenty of hanging space
Bathroom-heaps of hot water & great water pressure. Shower was over the bath but pretty roomy. No separate ceiling fan & a very flat bottomed sink were minor annoyances.
At night you need to swipe your room "key" to gain access to the building
In the Area-well located with many & varied eating options. We ate & drank at the Sanctuary pub across the road-the usual drink options at what seemed cheap prices for the city. We had a early counter tea before walking around for Vivid- I had a very good schnitzel while Mrs RB had a salmon in curry that impressed her. Next morning breakfast was a great takeaway bacon & egg roll & a coffee from one of the many cafes/restaurants in the area
We were given a 11am check-out (normally 10am) & it took us 15 minutes to stroll up to Central Station.
