I just received an email with a 15% off promo code (TRVL0114). Has anyone used them and had any experiences they can share with the rest of us (good or bad).

It's a bit cheaper than TID and they do multi trip multi person, so would suit me. Although I am not sure if TID requires you enter how long your max trip length would be as this escalates the cost a fair bit with Medibank Private.

Hi hedge

Haven't received the e-mail, but interested to know details. Would you be able to say what the cost would be of an annual multi trip world-wide (ie incl USA) policy for business and private travel, max length of trip 60 days? Whatever excess you care to look at, maybe $100?

I currently use Covermore (via my business) with cost last year of about $670. Been pretty happy with them for past 5 years (couple of claims, handled well) but always looking to save :)

Used them once and were difficult with a standard delay claim.
Also found the phone staff only asking questions that benefited them to try and get out of the claim. (ie little concern or sympathy for the actual problem)

After that experience went back to Covermore again they're more expensive but it's worth it.
The phone staff are great, knowledgable and sympathetic as well as giving follow up phone calls to make sure everything went ok.

So if you're just after medical insurance then medibank might be ok but for travel delay, cancellation etc they can be difficult.

It would be $633.25 if you are 35 years old and would have an excess of $100. At $250 excess it drops to $532.10.

Thanks. I have a few more miles on the clock than that ... doesn't sound compelling, esp in respect of cmon0005's experience.

I checked them out last year.....didn't go with then due to very high cost and question on the medical/evac cover.......didn't appear to be unlimited under the policy I was reading.

Swing between Covermore and TID.
