Mantra Amphora Palm Cove Suggestions

We will be visiting Cairns for 5D/4N in the month of Apr 2020 and have booked the room at Mantra Palm Cove as they are now available under Accor.

Appreciate if anyone can shed some light on the accommodation at Mantra and its proximity to all the wonderful things do to around Palm Cove/Port Douglas. We plan to fly from Mel and pick the hire car at Airport.

Palm Cove is a delightfully small sleepy town on a palm fringed cove. The town centre is small but with good amenities. For me, staying at Palm Cove is about barefoot walks along the beach, coughtails by the pool (or in the pool), a good book or three, catching a band playing along the strip. Very different to the comparative bustling metropolis of Port Douglas.
The drive from Palm Cove to Port Douglas is very picturesque but you may not want to spend one day of 5 driving. Port Douglas probably warrants a visit of its own. Kick back in Palm Cove and get the feel of the place.
