Malindo Air to fly SYD-DPS-KUL from 14/08/19

Malindo Air is now selling seats on its new Sydney-Bali-Kuala Lumpur flight, to launch from 14 August 2019. The flight will be daily using Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

Prices for SYD-DPS are starting at $399 return for Economy Super Saver (excluding baggage but including a meal), or $559 return for Economy Value including 15kg of baggage. (It's cheaper to book Super Saver and add 15kg of extra baggage - that works out to be $533 return.)

Schedule as follows:
OD171 KUL 18:25 - DPS 21:35/22:35 - SYD 06:40 (next day)
OD172 SYD 12:00 - DPS 16:50/18:00 - KUL 21:10

That's some expensive baggage! Probably even cheaper to just buy some new clothes in Bali and throw them out before you leave.

Any idea what the loads are like on their new service ex ADL?
Have spoken to a couple of people who have flown with them since they started the route and they all prefer them to the JQ service

yeah. The people I know who have flown them also say Malindo is a very good airline (they are usually JQ flyers).

It's interesting that there seems to be a real shift away from JQ these days. I know JQ's planes are still full, but a lot of poeple are moving to carriers with full service, better flight times, and better value.

Flew them in J KUL-BNE. Awful service, drinks were warm. Couldn’t get comfortable in seat, ended up going up to Y as it was only 25% full and laying over 3 seats.
