I have - we stayed there around five years ago before the new International airport was built. Its on the 'non tourist' side of Lombok which makes it a tad isolated although that might have changed with the new closer by airport.

We enjoyed it because at that time we needed a break and I think we just spent most time chilling out. We did a one day trip to Gili Island on the other side which was fun. Unless there has been new restaurants opened near by you are pretty much stuck with the resort restaurant for dinner although there were some very casual places nearby but it was dark and not much lighting to get there although very walkable during the day. The resort was nice and so was the beach when the tide was in. It drops a long way at low tide but its nice to walk out onto the 'reef'. No coral and not many fish if that is your thing. Fish are fabulous on the Gili Islands though.
It sounds like a good deal if your meals are covered as long as you arent looking for the normal Bali experience but a very laid back one.

I reckon that couple waxing lyrical got a freebie. Its nice, not magical so much. We were there in June - it was hot and sunny.

Thanks Pushka, it sounds like a suitable place for people who are a bit burnt out and need to wind down with enough food to not have to worry about it. It may be a bit quiet and isolated. The photos on TripAdvisor are useful for anyone considering it:

Yes, it is perfect for that!

That first review about the buffet not changing? Yes yes yes. I was almost going to mention that. Even though they changed the labels on the food and called it a different name (China, India, Italy etc) each night, the food looked exactly the same. we ate at their restaurant instead which was much nicer.

A friend bought similar deal for Khao Lak in Thailand. A long way from anywhere. These deals are good if you're willing to stay at the resort throughout your stay. He ended up cutting short the resort stay and stayed 3 nights in coughet.

We have a luxury Escapes deal booked for early November in Nusa Dua Bali and we plan on staying put in the grounds. You must do your research on location etc first.

I guess that's only for certain types of people. I'd go crazy without outside contact.

We are off to Kangaroo Island in a week for a luxury escapes stay at Great southern lodge.
Considering the Marriott Marquis in Bangkok for next year-a decent discount.

That is reported to be amazing.

I stayed there over NY in 2011 and loved it. Hired a moped and explored the whole southern coast. Never ate a single meal at the hotel. I recall an excellent place 15 minutes ride away that served up chili mud crab (it was a LP suggestion). The area wasn't secluded then and will be less so now. Explore the region would be my tip. There are over a dozen half moon bays for the taking - mostly with just fishermen for company. I've still got unfinished business with Lombok and would love to do it all again (including climbing Rinjani).

I can’t wait to veg out for 5 or 6 days and do absolutely nothing except read, drink champagne and eat chilli crab. I’ll need some winding down after the Africa trip. I will, of course, have at least one day snorkeling in the Gilli Islands.
I usually have one chilled out “couples holiday” after every 3 or 4 adventure holidays.

I’m 100% certain I won’t be writing a trip report.

I am sure things have changes since we were there in Xmas 1999 so I have no advice. At the time it was a great escape from the rabid sellers in parts of Bali. Our flight back to DPS was a circus-everyone ran across the tarmac to secure any seat available & there was a shortage of seats so some people were forced off (no one was volunteering). My most vivid memories are a ride in a runaway horse & cart & a trip to the Gilis in a small boat during Ramadan-our driver kept falling asleep
