I am planning for trip from BOS to LAX then SYD. From BOS to LAX in Y and LAX to SYD in J. The current J fare between SYD - LAX is really good. Since, these are two different classes, I will have to book them separately. My question is: Will AA interline my luggage all the way from BOS to SYD? the flight i am looking at, there will be 95 min layover in LAX. Will this be enough? TIA

Thanks Mattg. I have ended up booking a different flight to stretch the connection time longer.

Luggage unlikely to be checked through.

95 mins connection time is insufficient.

It's really at the discretion of the check in agent, being booked in J I believe gives you a better chance.

Just last week on a revenue J on QR from AMS-HND and a separate OW carrier AA F award HND-BKK the agent at AMS had no problems with checking our luggage thru.

Being in the USA though I'm not sure perhaps they are more strict on the rules.

Since OW removed the interlining rule, it is up to the individual carrier. QR will interline all OW tickets. I am not sure about AA, most likely not particularly as domestic AA is not too far from our JQ. I would not take any chances thus have had an extra day for connection.

How about this crazy one.

I just asked politely to the lady checking in for LH and she worked her interline Magic ))
