Random dinner conversation the other night with some friends the topic of travel came up and what we pack as a lucky charm. I travel with a small Donald Duck character I got in Disney land many years ago… touch wood….. in my over 20years of travel to all 7 continents of the world, I am yet to have a lost bag or any serious incidents … I know it is just superstition…. But I was wondering what others travel with as their lucky charm and has it been lucky for you?

Wooden Buddhist bracelet, the equivalent to St Christopher charm?
I have been using it for decades and even though I have done some very silly things in my travels I have not come to grief.
Also when walking in/out of an aircraft I give it a pat with my right hand, my daughter does the same thing too. Some Jetconnect crew know me from that gesture.:)

My parents gave me a St. Christopher medal many years ago when I first moved to London; whilst I'm not the least bit religious, I was in a dangerous situation in Japan a few years back, that worked out ok thankfully. Was it due to the medal? - who knows, but I do remember thanking him quietly on the way from the accident to the hotel.

It's so worn now, that my mum is insisting I replace it - to the extent of emailing me any she sees that take her fancy.:D

A Hat haha. Thats about all for the flight side of things. I work in an underground mine and i have a certain way i do things or i end up having a bad day at work. Place my tag in the same spot everyday, Always enter the cab from the left door at the start of my shift, and pen on the dash always has to face to the right. If i dont follow this, i usually have a few breakdowns and regret getting out of bed haha.

I take Eeyore on every trip with me.
Following in your tradition.
I now have grumpy cat. His first trip will be to Bali in jetstar. He is really grumpy now.

Paddington whom I took last time has been banished. He was in the suitcase and the bag didn't arrive.

Always a seat that starts or ends in 2. e.g. 2A,12A etc etc. You get the drift..;)

cheers

Same as you I always touch the plane upon entering, even my kids do it now :) I know it's silly and won't make any difference but I just can't help myself

As long as they have champagne, I'm lucky.

My lucky charm is cash. It works very well every time its needed.

time.jpgMy wife tells me its my pocket watch that I carry on every trip, like today MEL > SYD > BKK et al. To me its a sobering reminder of days gone by; no battery, wind up, don't need any app, don't have to update, doesn't talk back. My kids just think I'm a crazy old man!

I don't but I once sat next to a fellow who took an
old newspaper out and put it on the floor under
His feet. When I enquired he replied that he had been
Doing this for 10 years, with this particular paper,
and the aircraft had never Crashed !

I always travel with mine, wife Anna who has given me wedded bliss for past 35 years ❤️

Always travel with a St Christopher keychain which was gifted to me by a close Catholic friend a number of years ago. I'm not really religious, though I do tend to lean towards a Buddhist approach to life, however never leave home without the keychain - regardless of where I'm going. Mind over matter, maybe, but it will remain with me for as long as I breathe.

I suppose I shouldn't mention that former Saint Christopher has been purged?

Shocked to hear this .. so I did the Google thing (although I would bow to any higher authority??)

Seems he is still 'Blessed' (as in he still IS a Saint) but has been dropped from the 'Calendar of Saints' so his feast day isn't obligatory.

Whew, travellers can relax.
