Is it ture or not? I am heading to BOM next week and would like to use the lounge in BOM on my return trip on Sun 16/5. Anyone used the terrace/First Lounge and hwo good is it? I want to avoid running losing time by determining my best option before i leave so you rthoughts are all appreciated.

When I was there in November flying back to SIN on QF52 the Terraces lounge was closed. The only lounge option was the Clipper Lounge. BA flight is at 13:15, so if what is written above is correct, it would open at 9:15, about 20-25 mins before boarding for QF52. Never mind, the Clipper lounge was satisfactory.

Expect to be underwhelmed by Indian lounges...

I had that expectation when in BOM last year, but was actually pleasantly surprised by the Clipper Lounge. I guess that happens when the expectation is extremely low. My previous experience at BOM was on SQ and they contract lounge they used then, and well I would be kind to describe the lounge as antiquated.

However the Clippers Lounge, had comfortable, modern furniture, reasonable catering and drinks, seemed perfectly fine to me. Not a terribly different experience to most QF intl J lounges, nothing to complain about.

I was there in April on a CX flight to HKG.
Went to the Clipper lounge but it was quite full and very cramped. Couldn't find a seat at all.
I went to the Terraces lounge instead. Much better and stayed relatively quiet for the 1 hour and half I was there. From memory it was about to shut as I left...1am ish.
I was Sapphire at the time.

ok sounds like provided it is not full it should be ok. I actually used a lounge used by Thai in Bangalore last year and whilst very basic, it served the purpose with free wi-fi. drinks and food was very basic but paper selection, well what selection... i look forward to checking out BOM as it will be first time there and I have at least another 3-4 trips planned there in next 3 months. The good thing is I can fly J on QF metal all the way. I guess one shoudl nto expect AU quality in other countries as AU is their flagship.

My experience is admittedly limited to BLR and DEL - both of which were pretty awful experiences:

BLR - people sitting and sleeping on the floor. Every table had every seat occupied
DEL - no food to speak of and warm beer

Wow sounds like airport lounges in India haven't changed much in the last 10 years!

I am flying on an international flight out of BOM with 9W, in whY. Does my WP status give me access to any Lounge? I am not clear if 9W is a OW partner or not. I know I get no SC's for this flight - or points for that matter.

I also have a Platinum AMEX and a Gold MasterCard.

Am I destined to wait with ordinary folk?

All advice greatly appreciated.
