Lounge Join Fee

Hi All,

After being with Velocity since inception I joined The lounge paying the joining fee and maintaining Silver up until recently and went back to Red

My Lounge membership has just lapsed and now VA want to charge me another joining fee for re joining.

Why if you pay an initial joining fee have to pay another????

NOT HAPPY JAN!

I guess some loyalty is not rewarded.

Surely you should have been prompted to renew your Lounge membership before it’s expiry. Did this not happen? If so I’d say you have cause for complaint to see if you can get the fee waived. However, if you didn’t renew, let it lapse and then signed up again it’s really on you. The same thing happens with Qantas Club memberships.

As samh004 said. If you didn't renew before the required date, then you can only call up and ask nicely to have the fee waived - even though they are well within their rights to charge it.

If you have not paid the membership fee within one month of it becoming due, then they will charge the joining fee again.

If Membership is not renewed within one (1) month of its expiry any subsequent application for its renewal will be subject to payment of the then applicable Joining Fee in addition to the Membership Fee.

You can always try to get it waived, but no guarantees (or hope for a promotion!).

I have got another solution for you.

Get "prioritypass" membership. It give you access to "The Lounge" and plus you can use is everywhere in the world. And it's $350.

Cheaper and better isn't what we all want?
