Need AFF knowledge, tried to search it but I don't think a thread exists....

I am an SQ KF gold, flying to NZ from Sydney on VA in August.
I am flying Y, but given the "partnership" between VA and SQ, I would have thought I'm eligible for some lounge access.

Looked at this but it doesn't specify what happens for SQ KF Gold -- whether I can have access to AirNZ lounge, or whether I can access SilverKris in Sydney airport. Anyone know the answer?

From memory, partner status members only get access to VA operated lounges. So partner status means no lounge access when flying internationally on VA operated flights (maybe except MEL where it could be feasible to use domestic VA lounge?) Certainly flying VA operated flight out of AKL I could not get into NZ lounge (even being on NZ code on the flight meant no access as star alliance is based on operating carrier).

you're KF gold therefore *A gold, therefore you should get access to either the Air NZ or SQ lounge in Sydney IMO?

This seems to be the case:

Thanks serfty, I guess I get nothing because technically there is no VA-operated lounges in SYD Intl?
