My Qantas Gold card is valid to June 2016, and my new one has arrived at home just after I left on my current trip. I will be travelling MH from SIN and KUL, will I still be able to get lounge access? Will their computers show my status?
I presume if I use the Qantas lounge in Singapore, they will be able to.

I don't think you'll have a problem. Your status and eligibility for lounge access should always appear on your boarding pass, on both MH and QF. Computers should also show status. If you can grab the Qantas App on your phone that should be another way to prove status.

I only ever use BPs for accessing lounges. Never needed to show my card (except when checking in at a lounge domestically).

As mentioned above your status will show even on the MH boarding pass, which is enough for OW lounge access. No physical card needed.

Have a good flight

Yes all the above.

Additionally the lounge angels/dragons prefer to see the boarding pass anyway to ensure you are eligible based on onward flight. They can scan FF card but it will take up too much time.

All worked as advised, no need to show Qantas card. Neither lounges were anything to write home about, but it's better then nothing.

Did you think the QF SIN lounge was just "better than nothing"?

I'm guessing it was the MH lounges (now a 3rd party lounge in SIN)?

I had a similar situation with downgrade from Plat to Gold. Trip started before card arrived so I showed my card and boarding pass. I was given the higher lounge access twice. A fellow traveller who we met in San Fran took me into LAX First, and back in Australia just showed the Plat at Syd business and I was in! Result all lounges entered except one where the check was dragon and I was sent to the gold loungE when I departed Sydney.

Sadly, I never realised the Qantas lounge doesn't open until 14:30, i transferred terminals after check in to find it closed. I am a big fan of the Singapore QF lounge. But the SATS Premier lounge didn't quite cut it, neither did the Golden Lounge in KL.
