Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it the case that as a Platinum VFF departing HNL on a HA flight to Sydney, lounge access to the Delta lounge was available?

I see now that lounge access is for the Hawaiian Airlines Premier Lounge.

Oh that's indeed new! I flew home from HNL last year and used the DL lounge. Not sure what the HA premier lounge is like, but the DL lounge had no windows and was nothing to write home about!

Also new is the HA premier lounge access in KON, OGG and LIH, where I had no access last year. Oh and it looks like in SYD you now get access to the "International Business Class Lounge" rather than the NZ lounge? (That's a euphemism for the QF lounge right?)

So what is the "International Business Class Lounge" in Sydney if it's not the Air NZ lounge? I doubt it would be a QANTAS lounge.

As much as you doubt it may be the QF lounge, there are other ports where indeed it has been the QF lounge.

Looks like VA no longer state that for Platinum members access is to the Qantas International Business lounge in Sydney instead saying access is to the Air NZ Lounge but it still says that eligibility is for VA codeshare flights only. For Gold members access is also the Air NZ lounge in Sydney but eligibility simply states "Gold Membership" and no qualification about travelling on a VA codeshare flight.

In Honolulu it still states that for Gold Members access is available to the Delta Skyclub lounge but for Platinum members and no qualification about traveling on a VA codeshare flight but for Platinum members access is to the Hawaiian Premier lounge but eligibility is that you have be traveling on a Virgin Australia codeshare service.

still seems a right cough-up with the impression that Gold members enjoy better & less restrictive lounge access when flying Hawaiian than Platinum members.

I thought I would revisit this issue to see if there have been any changes to the lounge access rules for Platinum members when flying on Hawaiian with an HA code out of Sydney.

It seems that access is now available to the SkyTeam Exclusive Lounge. However the access rules seem to suggest that for Platinum members, access will only be granted if you're flying on a VA codeshare flight operated by HA but no access if on a non-codeshare HA flight.

Can anyone confirm that my interpretation is in fact correct.

In BNE, HA premium pax do indeed use the QF lounge, not the NZ one.

I read it the same way. It's basically saying that SG gets access no matter whether it is a code share flight of not and WP only has access on code share flights. It must me a typo either on the SG access or WP access. Maybe there is someone out there that has tested the waters.

Im booked out of HNL to BNE on a HA issued ticket this coming Friday and SG gold, will post what the outcome is!

So no problems getting into the lounge, only downside is they don't announce your flight when it's time to board. Had a decent array of snacks, hot food and drinks. Quite enjoyable in fact.

That's good to hear. When I was there in August the HA lounge receptionist denied me entry saying they had no arrangement to allow VA Platinum members entry.

Anyone else here booked on a J award? Im very quietly excited to see that from December what was a domestic level of business class seat is now a fully flat bed :)

The most recent update for lounge access when traveling on HA as either a gold or Platinum member is that there is no lounge access in Sydney unless you are ticketed on a VA code share flight.

However departing HNL, for Gold & Platinum members lounge access is to the Delta Skyclub with no qualification that you have to be ticketed for a VA code share flight.
