Long delay between booking and ticketing, should I be concerned?

Booked an award flight through Qantas 10 days ago (for Jan18) on Emirates metal. The booking appears in my QF account, and shows as confirmed on the EK website, but indicates it has not been ticketed yet. Points and taxes have not been charged either.

The booking was made on the phone as on line continually gave an error code ( and so the 6000 points fee was waived). I called QF 4 days later and was told that "they'd send it to a different queue for ticketing and the an e ticket should be sent within 24 hours".

Now 10 days after the original phone booking, still no ticket. Should I be concerned?
BTW, Another AY/EK award booking made on line 3 days later resulted in an almost instant e ticket.

I wouldn't worry. Call again and ask them to push through ticketing straight away. They have done this for me a few times. Usually do it in the background while you wait on the phone..

Given the QF/EK tie-up I wouldn't be too concerned (but still ask them to get a move on). But if it was any other partner airline I always insist on ticketing within 72 hours. After that, the operating carrier can cancel the reservation as it hasn't been paid for and trying to get a partner airline to release more award inventory is just not worth the effort.

I always chase if I haven't received the ticket within a week. More for peace of mind given volume of flying and a somewhat faulty memory. Plus on one occasion a flight booked 3 months in advance had not ticketed two days out and only discovered it when I tried to find the ticket to print. A quick call got it done straight away but was a bit of a worry (although on QF so wasn't that concerned). Has made me more conscious across all airlines and especially codeshares.
