Hi all,

It's holiday planning time again! :) Unfortunately, xONE4 European sector limits and non-direct flights (even between the most major of cities) is causing us some hassles.

I'm wondering if the brains trust might have any ideas for making my itinerary work? I'm not averse to using QFF points for some flights (we have about 190k at the moment combined), but want to make the most of the LONE4. Taxes are a bit of a killer on the award flights within Europe sadly (unlike in the US!)

Departing very early Sept (or late Aug)...the plan is:
SYD-SIN-LHR/DUB-BCN-FCO-ATH-FRA-JKF-MIA-LAS-LAX-SYD

Plan is to drive from LHR to DUB (therefore surface sector), and then use QFF points for one of the other flights (BCN-FCO via MAD seems the best option). Unfortunately we then come unstuck with the FCO-ATH flight - there are no direct OneWorld flights (only option seems to be Malev via BUD, leaving us with one too many flights). Haven't even looked at ATH-FRA yet.

Any ideas for how we might be able to work this? As I said - we're not averse to spending some QFF points, or paying for additional flights, but we'd like to make the most of the LONE4. We're also not too fussed on the order of DUB, BCN, FCO or ATH...but FRA will have to be the last stop as we're planning on visiting Oktoberfest again, which starts on September 18.

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,
- Febs.

You can purchase an additional segment for AUD200 each.

Intra Europe are a pita; sometimes a train journey is better value -but does not always work. In September, we are going from FCO to TLS via MAD (Train journey was 1¾ days)

Certainly an option, thanks. Presume that's $200+taxes and surcharges? Or $200 flat?

Still keen to optimise the routing as best I can though. For example, combine cities that have direct flights rather than (for example) FCO-ATH which has to be via BUD.

$200

per PAX per Addtional segment.

You can purchase up to two extra segments per continent.

As serfty said you can purchase extra segments, but the total for the whole xONEx still cannot exceed 16 (you seem to have the room in your itin to do so).

What about doing DUB-ATH-BCN-FCO-FRA

that should give you OW options with Iberia to and from BCN.

Also can you replace FRA with MUC, if octberfesting? It is also a rather enjoyable all day train trip from Rome to Munich.
