Hi everyone,

I just wanted to share with you my new website www.logmyflight.net
In there, you will be able to log your flights, to get personal and detailed statistics about your travel history. I guess you've always wondered if you've taken the plane enough to reach the Moon? ;)

This is a similar website than Flightdiary, Flightmemory and OpenFlights, but which probably has a more developed "social" side, with the presence of achievements that you can share, so that you can challenge your friends and family members easily. You can check a preview of an account in here : www.logmyflight.net/preview.php

I'm just a student and I've been working really hard on this for the past few months.
Hopefully you will like it and, of course, any feedback or suggestion is greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately it's not possible right now. For now, you can only import files from Flightdiary, but I'm already working on a solution to import also directly from OpenFlights and, hopefully, directly from TripIt as well.

As a temporary solution, I guess you could always import your flights to FlightDiary and then export them, to import then newt on log my flight. It's not convenient, but a better solution should be available next week already.

Looks interesting. Stacks of geeky statistics which is a plus for a lot of us :)

I'll give it a whirl when I get the chance.

Edit: I see your site hates spam, but what exactly will you do with my e-mail address?

It's just stored in a database, to be able to retrieve your password in case your forgot it. I'm not sending any mail of any kind.

You will just receive an activation email when you sign up, you just have to click on the link that will be sent to your address. If you are not confortable with this system, you can of course use a website such as 10 Minute Mail to activate your account. But then, you will have to create a new account if you forget your password.

Looks pretty cool!
Is it possible to import from an Excel file? I've got all of my flights in there...

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

It depends. Where do your file come from? Did you write it yourself, or is it coming from another flight logger website?
You can import on log my flight CSV files (some kind of Excel format), but only if it comes directly from OpenFlights or Flightdiary. If it's the case, just go on the settings in your account and you will see in there an option to import a file.

If you want to give your feedback about the website or if you have any other doubt, don't hesitate to ask!

I've already forgotten my password and needed to use the e-mail link to request a re-set :oops:.

However clicking on the 'reset password' link on the resulting received e-mail gets a error message:
404The page you are looking for might have been removed.
That makes us sad, too.
Would you like to go home?

I'll go through 'contact support' on the web page.

After some quick help from Log my Flight admin, I've transferred all my AFF Flight Tracker flights to Log my Flight. I think I currently account for 1/3 of all flights on their database :)

The map visualisation is like this (non satellite Google maps view also available):

Lots of stats; just a couple here:

I'd encourage people to give it a go.

Did you export your data out of AFF Flight tracker as a csv file? If so was it painful or lots of work/manipulation of data to load into Log My Flight?

The distance per year graph is handy to try a to find data to fill in some gaps in the "quiet" years.

Yes, I exported Flight Tracker to a CSV, but the import failed. It was a large file - 1044 flights, and had some non conventional airports in it (some I had to get AFF admin to create ... like Brooks Lodge, in Alaska - as sea plane "airport").

Log my Flight admin looked at it and reported a successful import once that airport had been 'fixed', but in the meantime I exported my Flight Tracker flights year by year and successfully imported each.

Thanks for the review, RooFlyer! If you have any suggestion of new statistics to add, you are of course welcome to suggest it.

Eastwest 101, I'm sorry for the late answer, I've been quite busy for the past weeks and didn't see your message. The importation from AFF should be as easy as a few clicks. However, this is still kind of a new feature, so if you have any problem during the importation process, don't hesitate to let me know and I will of course do my best to assist you.

Re: Logmyflight - personal flight logger

Hi guys!

It's been a while since the last update in here, and a lot has changed in Logmyflight since. I've been working on a second improved version during the past few months.
Here is a quick summary of the changes introduced with this new version :

  • Brand new design ;
  • Number of pages refreshs required to perform some actions greatly reduced, which results in a significative gain of time ;
  • You can now upgrade your account to get access to more features, such as the delay analysis, the new google heatmap, the possibility to retrieve informations of any flight directly from the flight number, and the possibility to add pictures to your flights ;
  • Facebook signup and login is now available, and the activation of each account with a valid email address is not required any more ;
  • Possibility to use two new flight reasons (military, and simulator flights), and to add new kind of informations when logging a flight (such as the terminals and the bag claim number) ;
  • When adding a flight, you can now leave a review (about the airports, airline and/or aircraft), for every user of the community to see ;
  • It is now possible to filter the data which appears on all your different charts (for example, you can decide to select only the flights leaving from Brussels in 2016);
  • New chart introduced about your favorite flight routes ;
  • In the data section, new "Top 10" tables have been added ;
  • 4 new awards are available, and 16 achievements have been created ;
  • Pre-made forms have been made to simplify the process of asking for a new airport, airline or aircraft ;
  • Some sample data is now available to import when creating a new account, to discover all the features offered without having to add your own flights ;
  • Introduction of a personal summary banner to be used in websites or forums ;
  • A guided tour button is available on most of the pages to help understand the possibilities offered by each page ;
  • You can also book your next flight directly from your account.

Some more features still need to be built and should come in the next few weeks as well, such as :

  • The importation of flights coming from TripIt.

Of course, as always, any suggestion, comment or bug report is more than welcome.
To do so, you can just respond to this thread or use the appropriated contact form under the "contact" section of your account.

Thanks for the support, can't wait to hear your feedback! www.logmyflight.net
