Sorry if this is answered somewhere else.

Im planning a trip from Syd to AYQ. Due to a few reasons the 4 of will likely be in different bookings of 2 1 1. Is it possible to link these somehow so that there is a slim chance of getting seats together? Do i call JQ to arrange? Purchasing through qantas.com as return will be qf so arent getting the plus bundle. Are they likely to preallocate us together?

I'm considering going QF via ASP but with a 2 hour layover im not sure if it's worth it.
Im read the whole you get what you pay for and jetstar hate on here but dont know if its worth the effort to travel separately. Any advise here is also appreciated.

You can't link bookings after they are purchased. Just front up early at checkin and tell checkin you are sitting together. Or if doing online checkin you could try and select seats close together. If you can't then ring up to see if the airline will let you sit together.
But no you can't link bookings together

Thanks. Same as qf then. Has anyone had experience calling and linking and getting allocated together? Its one of my considerations if i book qf or not

Same but QF online checkin (OLCI) will allow you to select seats from a block within your purchased cabin class. The available block of seats depends on your frequent flyer status. Go into one booking select seats . Exit that booking, go into the next booking and select seats.
You can also seats as part of the booking process
With QF you can ring ,wait in queue, can advise the agent you are travelling together. But still cannot link bookings together.

However no guarantee you will then be seated together. In fact no airline will guarantee a specific seat even if you have selected the seats. No airline. But usually the seat selection will stick. The most common reason for seat selection not sticking is a change in aircraft to smaller or bigger plane or delays requiring the plane to accomodate last minute pax or last minute special needs passengers or technical weight distribution reasons

Ive had QF link bookings together with 1 common flight allowing me to do OLCI for everyone at the same time and all show up for seating when not on my pnr. No separate window or session required.

Im not holding high hopes with jq for similar but wanted to see if their auto allocation at least tried to seat everyone together. Given we don't have the bundle im hoping for some type of smarts in the system.

I can see separate PNR bookings under the same frequent flyer account even if passenger is a different FF account but have never got them linked even for internatinal first class flights, even when I asked

Why book JQ through the QF site? Wouldn't it be easier to book using the JQ site and selecting the seats at that point?
