News that Qantaslink will operate a 717 between Melbourne and Launceston on a number of high-demand days this summer. The story implies it will replace one or more Q400 flights, increasing capacity by around 35 seats per flight, rather than operate as an additional service on those days. Interesting. Good news for LST residents, no doubt.

I wonder if it will be a 2-class 717, and whether J will be sold?

It says '110 seats' which is the two class aircraft; whether they sell J class is another matter entirely.

I suspect they will sell it as a one-class service, and let Platinum flyers select the J seats (with economy service). I may be proven wrong though.

Great news for LST, QF Link has been choccas for a while with the 4x daily frequency.

Interestingly, there have been rumours (from the ground teams at LST airport - so take with a pinch of salt) QF will open up LST-SYD again on QF Link which would be great.... Anyone else heard this one?

Spoke to my QF friend, definitely not selling J class.
Not sure if it will be a two class bird though.

VA don't sell J class on this route either, though they only have 3 flights a day.
