Just had my Platinum status renewed without requesting.
Only made 12 nights with them.
Ok it will mean I keep using them.

Dear Our Favourite Guest in the Entire World, {<< that was my poetic license}

You are clearly one of our most loyal clients, and so we are pleased to inform you that we will renew your Le Club Accorhotels Platinum card for another year. With your card, you will continue to benefit from the same great service and advantages that you have grown accustomed to during your stays at Accor hotels!

Your new Le Club Accorhotels Platinum card will be sent to you within 2 weeks days after the expiration of your current card at the following address:

I received an email and my status has been extended until early February (was end October).

Dear Mr <Not such a favorite guest> [:p]

At the moment you have a Platinum membership, and we’d like you to continue to enjoy the benefits that this brings. To maintain your membership level, you simply need to accumulate the required number of nights or points before 05/02/2015.

This will entitle you to keep enjoying the benefits associated with Platinum status, which include: ...
I have 3 stays and 2 nights (!?!!?)

Didn't get an email, but received new Platinum card in the mail this week. Status was extended for another 12 months. Only had 1 stay, 2 nights last year.

I just received an email extending my platinum status for 12 months. I got the status via free sign up and had 2 or possibly stays over the past year - all in Novotels.

Me too, me too. I had one stay of two nights and I was comped Platinum for another year.

The new card took about a 4-6 weeks to arrive in the mail but it arrived. I wasn't going to contact them regarding the card (I was starting to worry that it would never show up) as I was a free sign up member (like all the five billion other Le Club members) but there was no need to worry.

The date is 12 months after my most recent stay - however, my expiry still shows October 2014.

I'm thinking something has been "lost in translation".

I read it as "this is when the points from your stay will expire", but I could be wrong...

That's what it could be trying to mean, but there's nothing in the email body to indicate points or status expiry.

Taking the formatting out:

It does not state when Platinum benefits will finish.

The confusing part is the last two sentences, with the second last stating the nights/points to be accumulated to maintain the current level. The implication is that status would be maintained until then, rather than expire earlier.

Yes, very confusing ...

Yep, that's how I read it too.

Wow, I always seem to get the short end of the stick on these things. Stayed about 10 nights, only just received my card recently but nope - downgraded to Silver (although part of the email refers to your 'Accor Gold', which makes it confusing). After missing out on the 'standard' QF WP one year comp extension, it seems like I just don't have the touch for these things. ;)

Oh well, will just have to wait for the next promo - in the meantime, had some lovely stays at Sofitel Sukhumvit, and with a little help was able to match through to IHG Platinum and Hyatt Diamond (which are good for much longer) so I guess it's not a total loss. :)

I reckon I've had Plat status since 2011 without ever having stayed in an Accor hotel, until August this year when I did a status run to AKL - I did 1 night at Novotel AKL airport.

A couple of weeks ago, I received my first physical card in the mail with an expiry date of 31st Oct 2014. Ironic I thought - receiving a card with 2 weeks validity after all this time.

Today I started looking at hotels in Europe for a trip next May. Decided on a Mercure in Paris and logged in to find Platinum status with expiry date of August 2015.

I was comped last year but nothing this year so far. I'll drop to gold on 30/11/14. Hopefully they will comp me based on my recent survey feedback.

Spoke too soon apparently. Was re-thinking my hotel choice in Paris today, logged in to my account, and now nil status. Just received an email stating I've been downgraded to "Classic" level.

I cancelled my booking with Mercure and will just go with whichever hotel suits best location and price wise.

I've been dropped to silver (which I actually earned).

But disappointing when other people are comped plat without even staying.
Doesn't cost them anything though. If they're not going to stay.....On the other hand, it is good to see the cleanout of the faux platinum members. The ones that are platinum by pretending they had some credit card issues in some obscure country by some obscure bank.....
