Hello everyone,
Just looking for some advice as I look to burn some QF points that have been stacking up.

Looking at redeeming the flight back into aus on QF and am wanting to end up in BNE.

I was looking at F seats but BNE has no direct flight on QF and the options coming up are via SYD or MEL.

I would love some input wether the transfer in SYD / MEL is easy enough (I have been lucky enough to avoid doing internal domestics post long haul for what seems to be forever and fly direct) and which one is the better one to go if you had a choice.

Otherwise would you guys recommend flying J into BNE direct if the hassle is too much to do F.

Also are other carriers who might have F into BNE an option? (qf points to use here)

Thanks again and look forward to hear what you guys think.
Kind Regards

MEL is easy to transfer from International to Domestic, all under the same roof and just a few minutes well sign posted walk.

SYD requires the bus between terminals and can be a pain to navigate although it is well sign posted.

Frankly if you're going to do an F trip start in either MEL/SYD rather than fly into them.

thanks Hvr.

I wish i could but Im flying in from another part of the world.

I should mention will have check in bags.

Definitely Melbourne, given the transfer is just minutes on foot rather than dealing with buses.

cheers for the replies. seems like MEL is the way to go for transfers.

Now the subjective follow up q - would you guys go via MEL or take J direct. From a perspective of ease, comfort of skybed vs new F. Points not an issue for QF metal.

Lastly - is it possible to snag F with points LAX - BNE on another carrier. ie JP or CX.

as always great info mucho appreciation !
thanks

Neither JAL nor CX operate F out of BNE. If you want F, you'll have to go via MEL or SYD on QF.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

You could do EK via DXB in F all the way? Would make the entire journey 30+ hrs though.

JAL only offers F into SYD over summer.
There is some confusion as to whether they were going to do it this year but a dummy booking on the JAL website says 77W is bookable but only until mid March.

Yeah I prefer MEL for transferring. I have a few horror stories with risky connections in SYD.
