Launch fares SYD-AYQ for $119 one way flights commence 4 June subject to Govt and Regulatory Approval. Interestingly though is interlined flights from other cities including Melb Avalon are available, however the price is more than if you purchased separate flights. Also they are quite confident that their 8.25am flight from Brisbane will arrive in Sydney ontime at 9.55am as the connecting flight to Ayers Rock leaves Sydney at 10.30am.

Booked myself a couple of days in mid July to freeze my butt off whilst watching the sunset over the big rock.... again!

When you say "interlined flights from other cities" do you mean if you do an availability BNE to AYQ that it will show you an availability display allowing you to book both the BNE/SYD & SYD/AYQ flights on the one pnr?

I hope people doing this option have hand luggage only as JQ do not through check bags domestically from one flight to another, even if they are on the same pnr. The functionality is there to do so because CSA's have done it in the past accidentally if they forget to select check in to the first destination only.

Even if the BNE/SYD flight was on time arriving in SYD at 0955, there is absolutely no way anybody could collect a bag from that flight in 5 minutes & check it in again prior to the 30 minute close off for baggage at 1000 for the SYD/AYQ flight.

Well it's offered - just checked myself. And, there is the ability to add checked baggage, (but I didn't go any further into the booking to see if the checked baggage would take).

I don't doubt for a minute that it's marketed that way however that scenario is destined to end in tears as it's not gonna happen.

I'm sure we'll read about any adverse experiences on th JQ FB page.

Interesting that the 'Plus bundle' is only $1 for these flights. Am assuming this is only for the introduction period.

Still not interested and the ruination of a good JASA from MEL.
